92k miles, pretty spotless, the most fun driving Ive ever had! - £600

The picture is from the ebay ad of the chap I bought it from, I can add more if anyone is interested?!

I'm over the moon with it!

Oh and continuing the recent John Shuttleworth trend- Don't bother asking me Y reg, it just happens to be that year.

That is beautiful. It's good to see a few have survived the Mini Owners engine stealing genocide. Congratulations.

Thank you. It is so original its unbelieveable. I intend to keep it that way! Will hopefully take some more pics tommorrow.

Lovely. I have never seen a white one - the Mk1 MG1300s I remember from my yoof (late 80s/early 90s) were all black, silver-green or silver!Luzz loadsaWaxoyl in it and cherish it please.

Put it into a plane and fly to 10,000 feet. Then push it out. Scrape up the bits and mince them with a scrap mincer. Then encase it all in concrete. And have the concrete hurled into the north atlantic, as far from civilisation as you can. Best for all concerned really, eh?

Looks like a good score for £600 quid....I have a soft spot for these as my dad had a brand new black one in 82 (I was 12) and it was the first 'sporty' car we had.His 85 XR2 was much nicer though!! He fooked that up by driving it too slowly....seriously.Have you got the ebay link for yours?

How cruel! It has been waxoyled to the extreme, ensuring its survival til the end of time at least.

My grandfather bought one new - a bright red x reg. thought they were quite cool as a 10 year old...well better than the shuvvit he had before...

Thats very nice!I always used to be something of a Metro hater, but old age is mellowing me somewhat and I'm finding that rather appealing.

Found the auction, looks realy nice. Must be very early one as it has the black trim on the seats and that was changed to grey quite quickly I believe.

Red seatbelts? My primary school head teacher had one and all I remember is the bright red seatbelts!Mark.

Yeah it was an auction, but I offered the chap £600 cash and he agreed.Yes it has red seatbelts, including on the back seats. Whoever bought it new got all the options, even 'Metro' mudflaps! Only thing missing is the original radio.Sorry not had a chance to get photos, had a nightmare at work and the car is at my dad's garage having a little fluid removed from the front suspension as its a bit high. Hopefully I will have a chance tommorrow though.

I LOVE THIS CAR!!!

Those aren't Metrics. The Dunlop TD didn't appear until mid 1984 with the last of the Mark 1 Metros and never on pepperpots. The Metro was a badly made rust bucket but they were a pleasant thing to drive. The colour is Arum white btw. :D

Bummer - just sold one for a tenner on the bay of eeee, there is a bloke at Botany Bay car boot sale who has one for 3 or 4 quid, its been there a few weeks now. Standard fit were AR branded Philips LW & MW push button affairs, though I think the MG and VP got a radio / tape as an option to start with.

I've got a Philips radio cassette but it's a bit later, from an '90 car so it's probably not the right one. Came from a '90 Metro Clubman, but the one in my '89 Mini Mayfair was identical.
