davidfowler2000 Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 Decided to do a wee road trip photoshoot today. Well I didn't really. I wanted to go up to the blanket of snow that is Glencoe in order to freeze my balls off to get some crisp, cool winter shots but due to a lack of snow and an abundance of cloud that wasn't present in the city, it turned into a photoshoot for the wheels. Lankytim Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 Lovely! I do like Scotland alot. Good to see another facelift 740 with an Autoshite sticker- My Dad has one!
Cavcraft Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 Great stuff, added the second picture to my favourites.
triumph1300 Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 Very nice. I have a facelift 740, love the car, but I wish it was pre facelift, much prefer the look. I love Scotland too, half of my family are Scottish and are from Dalkeith, I intend to head back in 2014 to get married up there
Spiny Norman Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 Excellent pics David, always thing Scandinavian cars look better in cold winter environments than in brilliant sunshine.
Shep Shepherd Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 It's always good to see another facelift 740 in regular use Here's a photo of The Volvo, in an industrial setting, last night:
triumph1300 Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 I guy I know who collects cars has 2 740 estates.... Not as nice as ours
Shep Shepherd Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 I guy I know who collects cars has 2 740 estates.... Not as nice as ours. I know that house well, as I used to pass it on the way to Broadstairs at least once a week for about twenty years when I lived in Kent. It was once owned by the late wrestler Jackie Pallo, who had a passion for old Saabs. As such, the garden was chock-full of them for years and years. I presume that the house is still in his family. Incidentally, that gold 700 (looks like a 760) has been in the garden for almost as long as I've owned The Volvo
Shep Shepherd Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 Where was that taken? The former "Dreamland" theme park in Margate, Kent. The ride in the background is the historic Scenic Railway: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scenic_Rai ... eamland%29 It's a real shame to see it in its current state
triumph1300 Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 Yes the gold one is a 760. The cars are now owned by jack, jackies son, as he passed away a few years ago. Still a few old Saabs up there. Nice bloke actually
triumph1300 Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 Apologies for the thread hijack. Here are some more pics of where the volvos are: Such a shame they have got to this state..
davidfowler2000 Posted December 10, 2012 Author Posted December 10, 2012 For the chod content, I shall approve this hijack. !!!APPROVED!!!
dollywobbler Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 Love the Scottish shots. Heading up for a tour with the BX lot in June if I can afford the fuel. Definitely a favourite part of the world.
davidfowler2000 Posted December 10, 2012 Author Posted December 10, 2012 Let us know what your plans are if and when you decide to head up and I'm sure we could maybe have a Scotoshite day out some place. Either that or you could join the Scotoshite dinner meet that month.
cms206 Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 This disappoints me... think he'd sell me the bonnet, offside front wing and tailgate?! Seeing as we've gone all Volvo again, here's another shot of the Council Estate... E113 MFK by cms206, on Flickr
triumph1300 Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 This disappoints me... think he'd sell me the bonnet, offside front wing and tailgate?! I may be buying the whole car to break, because he won't strip them, he just wants them gone. I just need to be sure I can get my money back, rather help a few people out than see this fragged.
aldo135 Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 Very nice. I have a facelift 740, love the car, but I wish it was pre facelift, much prefer the look. I love Scotland too, half of my family are Scottish and are from Dalkeith, I intend to head back in 2014 to get married up there Let us know the date nearer the time and we can arrange a shite car drive by, i'm sure your new wife will be delighted! Great pictures David, Loving the photo hijack as well!

aldo135 Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 Good work mate! My Mrs just about puts up with it! Whats the wedding car going to be then, could be the 2 Volvo's on this thread! Or Adrian's Saloon with the shagpile headlining!
fotorabia Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 That garden in Kent is epic!...and probably holding the Autoshite record for the most Glencoe drive bys..whats fascinating about it is the weather is so diverse you always see it in a different light..and cloud...when i was back in 2010..being a local..i blagged a Highland Railcard which gave me a discounted journey to Glasgow from Ft William..its a brilliant train journey..over Rannoch Moor..
HillmanImp Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 This disappoints me... think he'd sell me the bonnet, offside front wing and tailgate?! Do you a strip for under the light yet to stop it looking like it has a black eye?

Do you a strip for under the light yet to stop it looking like it has a black eye? No... I refuse to do anything other than occasionally wash it lest it become accustomed to being pampered. If panels are forthcoming it'll get a tidyup, otherwise it remains the true council estate...
