A Bristol SU Albert? Now that is bus misery! LOL

Posted

An old friend has had one of each, ex Western National. One did the Plymouth-Mousehole run. 274KTA. I enjoyed a few summers on it as a kid. He bought it in the late 70s from Totnes Bus Depot for £90, and took his own batteries.

Prefer the LHS myself. Fun in the wet! A mate used to have one, but flogged it last year. Now plays with a 1961 Fordson Thames coach instead after the berk killed his Discovery, and now drives an ex Pat LDV 'Pillock'

You called?

:)

Not quite mate, but my mate is a complete numpty sometimes. His ex Pat Sherpa is dead easy to spot at old vehicle events in the north, full length roof rack, and rat graphics on, and can often be seen towing a 1970's caravan. He is a pure autoshitter and surprisingly isn't a member on here!

Nice selection, Albert, I could quite happily roll along in any of them. :) On the basis that the bucket list should be the almost unattainable, rather than the usual suspects (Tagora, Rancho, Sherpa coupe, etc) which merely exist on my wish list, and I would like to have something from before my time, I would include any from:

1. Alfa Guilietta Sprint

2. Ford Model T (I've always wanted to try a really old car)

3. Ford V8 coupe (1930s flathead, ditto)

4. Jaguar XK 150S

5. Karrier Minibus

6. Lancia Aurelia GT

7. Land Rover Series 1

8. Pinzgaur (If I could spell it  )

9. Scania 142

10. Swallow Doretti (made locally, but I've never even seen one :( )

I think that I was born about 40-60 years too late :(

9. AEC Routemaster (the bigger one with the extra windows in the middle)

10. Leyland National (any)

Interesting to see that Japanese and one-time Iron Curtain vehicles are popular and feature in the same lists as each other :)

My wish list is as follows, bearing in mind that the chance of me actually owning these are very slim indeed.

1) Renault 12 Mk1

2) Fiat 132

3) Ford Escort MK3, not an XR or RS model though.

3) An early Sierra.

4) Renault 6

5) Renault 16

6) Early and non Barried Corsa GSi

7) Leyland FG

8) VW Phaeton

9) An Ex Glasgow_Panoramic windowed Alexander bodied Atlantean,
