it was a sad day in the fordperv house yesterday our resident comical parrot was weak and couldnt hold herself upright (fine the night before), we rushed her to the vets to see if we could do anything for her, we got to the vets and got seen pretty much straight away but unfortunately the kindest thing to do was to let the vet help her drift off to the big sleep

This is my baby, our Beagle-Harrier puppy Biskit. I’ve had her since November, and she goes everywhere with me. I left her in the boot while I nipped into school, but as you can see, she wanted to sit in my seat. She malts almost as much as our white Akita did, so I need to vac the car out again.

I bought her a muzzle in January after she got the munchies with the load liner and started tasting the seatbelts in the Volvo to see if they tasted nice. The Zafira isn’t mine, and I don’t really fancy the bill if she eats it.

Beagle-Harriers were bred in France during the 19th century are extremely rare to see in any country today. Biskit hasn’t had the best start in life really, and from what I can gather from reading up about the breed on the internet, we are her third and final owners. We believe that she was called Daisy until July, when her last owner bought her from a breeder in Liverpool and changed her name. Why they chose to spell Biscuit like that on her paperwork I have no idea. Their teenage Daughter lost interest in walking her very quickly, and she has spent most of her life in a cage while her owners were out of work. Beagles do not like to be left in a cage in the kitchen or left at home on their own, and I think the neighbours had complained to Environmental Health about the noise Biskit made.

She celebrated her 1st birthday 10 days ago, and despite being a huge pain in the backside at times, I wouldn’t want to be without her.

She loves Yorkshire puddings and can clear a tray of 12 in seconds. She has to have a full Sunday roast, and she guards the slow cooker when I’m making rice pudding with Jersey milk. If she doesn’t get a bowl of it spoon fed to her by the kid’s, my slippers will get destroyed.

We probably go through a lead or collar every month that she has chewed through. She was a little bit under fed when we got her, but she’s piled it on nicely since we got her, she loves her food, and I’m guilty of giving her far too many treats.

We tried the Drontal bone shaped wormer tablets from the link that someone posted a few weeks ago, which went down easier than the powdered stuff that Tesco stock and at half the price, so a quick thank you to whoever it was for posting the petmeds link.

I think it was Volksangyl that had the noisy dog, try a muzzle it took Biskit a month to learn how to bark with it on.

This one (Jess) ran away most weeks, every time I found her days later across the road, eventually agreed with the house owners that she had adopted them. She's now called Pudding.

my mother for the last 15 years has cared for a formally abused Shetland pony called Sandy who was the companion to Mums pony who died recently. She doesn't officially own him...and shes's the only one he trusts as he's nervous as hell..however..in the last two days...ive won him over..the first person to do so..i can feed him by hand..and do the breathing trick nose to nose..my joke that we both suffer PTSD..except his is Pony Trauma Stress Disorder...

What a lovely thread - it`s brought the odd tear to my eye, remembering the pets Mrs. Twiggy and I have had over the years. We now live on a retirement estate which sadly does not allow pets.
