Autoshite is a free service so if from time to time it allows the spammers on should we really be too bothered? Promoting another couple of shiters to admin status will only cause others to be feeling like they should of got the job due to post count or perceived importance. AS is far from broke so why try and fix it?

This thread is heading for pages and pages! We all don't like spammers and we all (hopefully) know not to reply to them, scores of replies to the same just keeps threads like this near the top and interesting stuff gtes lost. Let's agree to agree and leave it now.

why not have a mod. (or two) - if their remit is ONLY to remove spambot posts, then there shouldn't be any arguments about the Mod(s) activity

Y'know what? It's quite simple. Ignore the spam, as already suggested; and HAVE CONVERSATIONS. When there's some talking point (say a spotted thread for example), fucking say something. That way, the good stuff hangs around for a day or two, and the crap falls off the page.

Some basic mod bannery wouldn't go amiss tho'...
