Unfortunately not GTI's the first two are diesels anf the third is a D turbo.

I detect a plan to dominate global supply. :D They do look so much nicer than the 206.

Has the first one really covered five hundred thousand miles? Impressive!

Yes the mileage is over 500000 miles

However the only major work carried out to it was this year when the mileage was 498624, it was rebored.

I had difficulty in getting someone to do the Peugeot Talbot Sport decals on the D reg. Andy Johnson of A J Decals made them from measurements provided by myself and photographs of the car taken in the late 8o's. This stripe kit was originally available from Peugeot dealers. I had them fitted to the car before delivery in May '87. The Rallye decals are available on ebay and were made by the same person.

I love the graphics!

And it's well known that all the best people have diesel 205s. This one of mine is doing 400 miles a week and must be the cheapest way to have a fun drive to work

Excellent work with those little 205s. I once bought one from my mate's folks and despite its hard life and 120k miles it drove a treat, the little 1100 pez engine clattering away enthusiastically every time I went out in it.

Half a million miles really is a smack in the face for all the "OMG French carz izz shit" brigade.

Could'nt agree more about the cheapest way of having fun!

Were the GTI style side mouldings on your car when you bought it? Don't see them nowadays. Nice looking 205 though.

205s are ace, everyone knows that.

The light blue GT is fantastic, looks like it's done about 11,000 miles so credit to you for keeping it looking so sweet.

Very nice looking 205's the decals really do make a difference and I can't believe the first one's done 1/2 million miles, it looks gr9..

They are indeed delightful, as are all 205s (especially non GTI ones.)

The D reg is Wedgewood blue I believe, quite a rare colour on 205s? Must be a pre-facelift? I had a great time selling these in the late eighties.

Congrats on the fantastic mileage.

Fantastic stuff, Half a million in that 205 is outstanding, that must be the highest miled petrol in the country left on the road still, The N plate is a smart looking tool too.

Congrats on the fantastic mileage.

You are correct it was known as wedgewood blue, however if buying paint today have to use the French name bleu lazuli. It is a phase 1 with the sliding heater controls.

They're all diesels.

Ha, I skim read it too!

I had those Rallye stripes on the grill of my Gti back in the day.

(Except the time I skived off work to go to a job interview - I was that paranoid about getting busted skiving I put red insulation tape over them that day!)

Somewhere I have pics.. Bear with.

Love your 205s, especially your Phase 1, that's a fantastic colour.

Wonderful collection. Can't believe the mileage, that's incredible, it still looks brand new.

My grandad bought a brand new wedgwood blue 205 XLD, reg was D244 RCX, the engine went on fire at 27,000 miles (10 years later) so he got a much less good L-reg GLD which I still have.

Will we be praising the 206 like this in about ten years? Will silver be considered a fantastic colour by then? Should I have kept the bits of clear plastic that the m.i.l. put on the edges of the doors?

Probably not.

I passed my driving test in a 205 1.9 diseal. F reg if i remember corectly. Dark blue in colour. Howard school of motoring if i rememember correctly. Brilliant wee csrs to drive.

A great looking set of Pugs 8)8)8)8)8)8)

What is the mpg difference for having the turbo D as opposed to the none turbo D?

Super motors, the D reg one is particularly delightful. I thought you had made an eBay style typo on the mileage, the car looks fantastic for it.

Nice to see pictures of 205s that aren't gti models!

I find the difference around 5 to 6 miles to the gallon less for the D turbo, however you can't have it all, as The D turbo has a bit more grunt.

Going from road tests of the time I think the turbo got about 43mpg and the non turbo about 53? My non turbo gets between 55 and 59mpg but I do quite a long commute to work which probably helps.

And road tests mpg can be a bit flaky, with all the performance testing and the fact the engines are still pretty tight, diesels back then took a few thousand miles to give their best performance.

Very nice little 205's,the pale blue one looks really nice.Peugeot had a great little thing going when the 205 was in production, but the 106 which was supposed to replace it wasn't even half the car the 205 is.

A couple of nice models of 205 I quite like were the Roland Garros and the Sceptre models which had gotten quite posh inside
