BorniteIdentity Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 It's difficult to do these gorgeous thing justice on a camera phone. In 16 years of motoring it's my favourite dash ever. Subtle. Understated. dugong Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Yes, it shits coolant out over the floor. STINK LINES. I wasn't trying to be arty with that shot; I had to stick my phone twixt satellite and steering wheel rim. The three spoke on my car was fitted to Japanese market HBLs; I don't like the two spoker the UK Turbos came with. I have a Momo Rally 01 I might fit for the LOLs. The satellites power little servos that shunt the trunking around for whichever setting you want. I keep my hands on the wheel and flick the indicators on and off with my closest two index fingers. My car also has a shortened gear lever. The vent on the far right periscopes upwards to direct air over the dash cowl. Magnificent Rustbucket, anonymous user, Coprolalia and 2 others 5
dugong Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 The HBLs had a cranked three spoke wheel (also seen on the the MU/Frontera) which let you see everything. RH satellite does the lights, cruise, dash pack and satellite illumination (rheostats) indicators and rear window demist. The blanked off button is used to crack the O/D on and off in the autos. No, I don't know why it's there, either. mouseflakes, Magnificent Rustbucket and Lacquer Peel 3
Noel Tidybeard Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 yeah you would expect it to be front fogs shirley? dugong 1
dugong Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 yeah you would expect it to be front fogs shirley? Aye - except Piazzas didn't have a front fogs as standard and the rear ones had to be tacked on by the importer. There was room in the light cluster to mount them and they chose to hang those 'orrible Halfords specials off the back bumper instead. There's also a blank on the cowl which JDM cars use for variable power steering assistance. Isuzu GB/Isuzu UK said 'hells no' to that and no British Piazzas went so equipped. Also, digi dash. Gutted.
warren t claim Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 According to the owners handbook you could spec a mk3 Cavalier with a digi dash. I can't say I've ever seen any with one. dugong 1

Pillock Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Leather dash suggests something modified, but then the 00002 mileage suggests brand new car.Factory special? I never noticed that a GM digi dash has an actual number of gallons left in the fuel tank rather than a level. It doesn't fit with the rest of the gauges but I kinda like knowing stuff like that. Why does this Piazza have two rheostats, can you control different parts of the illumination independently? EDIT: Just seen the Mk3 Cav is parked up against someone's brick shithouse, so probably not factory. EDIT2: Google Image search is a wonderful thing, apparently that's a Vectra 2000 dash imported from Germany (so what we got here as the first Vectra) installed in a Calibra, so WtC's point stands
Barry Cade Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 From information gleaned from t'internet- so may be a load of shite- they made 500 of them.

dugong Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Why does this Piazza have two rheostats, can you control different parts of the illumination independently? Left hand does the pod illumination, right hand does the instruments.

cros Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Due to the factory deeming the fitment of shock absorbers unnecessary my 1933 Morris Commercial caused a bit of camera shake. The mechanical fuel gauge was operated by a chain attached to a cork, but it rusted beyond saving so now I have a fish tank float connected to the white warning lamp. All this is is lit by a single bulb, and you can turn it off if you want to save a bit more electricity. Dick Cheeseburger, Squire_Dawson, vulgalour and 4 others 7
