Morgan84 Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 A LOT of car for the money;can't you change your wifes mind ?
Negative Creep Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 A LOT of car for the money;can't you change your wife? EFA
Shep Shepherd Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 £450? It looks like a £1000 car at least!
meshking Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 is this a saloon, or a hatch? I've seen some of them where the full boot door and rear window open. Oh - and whereabouts are you?
HMC Posted September 11, 2012 Author Posted September 11, 2012 Hi, this is the 3 door hatch ( IIRC combi coupe in saab speak when introduced) located tavistock, devon. All the tyres has plenty of tread, and its the 16 valve turbo model.
HMC Posted September 11, 2012 Author Posted September 11, 2012 Also has cruise control option (working)heres a recent pic when it wasnt raining. Also shows I've got too many cars!Apparently these guages and the saab leather sports steering wheel are worth reasonable money on their own
Spiny Norman Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 That's silly money for one of these in any kind of half decent condition. Why not stick it on Car&Classic for a grand seeing as Practical Classics have done a feature on them this month.
Negative Creep Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 If I could ever sell the damn Bluebird I would be on my way to your house right now. Although admittedly you would probably be in bed, so it would be a bit weird
gadgetgricey Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 The wife is going to kill me, but just about to send a pm asking for first refusal. Thanks - Dave -
Pete-M Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 This is even tempting me. IF it's still here in a week or so, I may well buy it.
Largactil Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 I came in from the pub last night, with a belly full of ale and actually started to write an e-mail offering to buy this. Thankfully (I think) I fell asleep before I was able to send it; off on holiday today for two weeks... If this is still here when I return, I might do something ill advised, like buying a Saab.
Shep Shepherd Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Why do cars that I'd buy in an instant come up for sale when I have no time to collect them or arrange transport to collect them?
HillmanImp Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 That looks sweet. I agree though, its too cheap for what it is. Sadly I have no room at the moment or I would be all over it. I regret selling my old one.
sporty-shite Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 GUTTED! I've already bought one car this week, there's no way I could get away with another unless I could move at least one. And I don't think I could talk her into taking me to Devon. Pah. Don't want to swap for a Scirocco, do you? Thought not.
Angrydicky Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Always liked these. Should sell easily at that price.
Station Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 You don't want to swap for a 1994 150bhp e220 (just like the one you swapped it for?)
Shep Shepherd Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 I'd really love that. It would make an idea rolling project/comedy
HillmanImp Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Had nobody bought this yet? WHATS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!* Have a free bump for an amazingly cheap and amazing looking car. *please buy it before I get pissed and send a drunken PM.
skattrd Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Far too cheap. I'm not buying it as I'll shortly be advertising my 900 T16s for sale shortly ... for more than double this price.
gadgetgricey Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 The wife is going to kill me, but just about to send a pm asking for first refusal. Thanks - Dave - Well she hasn't killed me yet, but the Saab is now in its new home in the Midlands. Never had such a long day to collect a car before.... Set off at 10:00 am this morning and did not get back till 9:00 pm this evening. 4.5 hours on the one train from Birmingham New Street to Plymouth + three other trains and the associated connection waiting times. Thoroughly Knackered, but very very pleased with the car. Performed faultlessly on the 200 mile journey home. Got tomorrow off to have a proper look round. Thanks again brookjm. Cheers - Dave -
Spiny Norman Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Good to see it's staying "in the fleet" as it were.
CortinaDave Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Me too! Bad timing for me as I'm just about to go off on holiday for a week which has bankrupted me but i'm pretty sure I'd be keen on this next time it comes up for sale (assuming it does) . Plus the fact its ... slightly... closer to me now helps Enjoy your new motor!
Morgan84 Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Really nice interior, but the seats are crying out for some leather cream. I hope you enjoy it and play safe;remember,Saab invented torque steer !
