Be Good!

Posted

If 'Being Good' includes jumping up and down in my seat at the sight of that black not-a-Lincoln but a Continental then yes, I'll Be Good!

Posted

That black Continental Mk11 is a real thing of beauty.

These were never offically a Lincoln - the Continental divison was a short lived attempt at a very high end luxury marque for Ford, it only survived from 1955 to 1958.

They were $10,000 in 1955 dollars, more than twice as much as the most expensive Cadillac. Ford lost money on each one and only a few thousand were made.

Superb build and almost instant classic status means a good survival rate.

Some superb stuff there. Your photos always make me want to go to America and just drive around. :D

Love these pics from over the pond , no idea what half of them are but the one behind the crisscross fence reminds me of that possesed red one

haha, you mean Christine? The was a '58 Plymouth Fury, the one behind the fence is a '58 Dodge. So yeh, they look similar because they are essentially the same.

I took a different route visiting the outlaws upstate recently and stumbled across a pretty run down area in Ulster Country called Malden. Most of these were on a 10 mile strip of road.

GR16 snaps!!! That Hyundai looks ideal for a nerd-type comedy loser character from a US college sitcom.

Posted

I can see I'm going to have to instigate a thread, aren't I? I spend my US vacations driving around snapping random cars at the roadside, or soemtimes even oncoming. Mrs Ramrod doesn't seem to enjoy these trips a whole lot...

Mind I do the same wherever I am, you want to see the file I have of Cyprus photos, and I've only lived here a bit over a year! Never go out without the camera.

Meanwhile, some great spots, fordpoplier, keep 'em coming! 8)

Hello all, camera requires a dump pre 'holiday season' so here we go. Most are very local

Lukas, that's a Barried up Honda Accord.

Seth, indeed not a common sight, not sure I've seen another TVR of that age here ever.

Face, I have to confess - F knows what what's under the bonnet of that Merc, it's just been sat at the side of a garage too long.

Posted

I think Face means the advertised price of diesel?

Great update!

Great spots!

Particularly like the 405 Estate and Renault Alliance...that Iveco is neat too, never seen one here.

Posted

Cool Beans Bro! (wot?)

Sorry to be a typical 'car guy' but that SuperBee would get it, repeatedly, in every position. So would the big white Buick (?) coupe.

The Renner Alliance thing is cool though, obvs

I do indeed :D

 I'd love a Mercedes-Benz 332.9SL though.

Er, Renault Alliance, you can keep! The "big white Buick" is just that, a 68 Riviera which was the top of the range. I'd be going for the grey Cadillac behind it, or the two-blue 56 Oldsmobile out on the street. Or the Super Bee, natch.

Hello all. Most of these were taken over the holiday period when visiting friends/relatives and of course the most shite route was always taken.

We start with the dream VW garage.

And I’ve been to this place in Connecticut before but there’s always something to see.

This had a hand painted rear end and stick on gold trim everywhere. CLASS!

These were 10 miles from my inlaws house, discovered whilst out ‘shopping’
