catsinthewelder Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 Hoping to get along to this in our purple 1100, might turn up in something else though if its not up to it. Anyone up for a minor AS get together?
Lord Sterling Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 This is only around the corner from me. To be hoonest I tend to avoid POL, but with the promise of a drive of a Montego and a possible AS get-together I might just make an appearence.
willswitchengage Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 Why do the 75 and ZT owner's club have their own little plot so far from everybody else? Do they have bad B.O. or something?
Skizzer Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 [Why do the 75 and ZT owner's club have their own little plot so far from everybody else? Do they have bad B.O. or something? We tend to smell slightly of wee. Plus it discourages Triumph Stag owners from stealing our Werthers.
e287yba Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 Why do the 75 and ZT owner's club have their own little plot so far from everybody else? Do they have bad B.O. or something? Kinda reminds me of the possible outcome of a request made by the Austin 7 Club at a planning meeting for the Austin Centenary [summer 2005], at the point where the 'domestic arrangements' were being discussed ie the location of the different stands, the bars, the toilets, the camping area and so on. Can we have a satellite bar for the Austin 7 Owners, because we are away from the rest of the field?" They were firmly smacked down, in no uncertain terms ! (They were also quite uncomplimentary about Maestros and Montegos being allowed to attend and that there were FOUR of them in the Cavalcade [from the centre of Birmingham to Cofton Park] ; they got firmly smacked down for that one too . By this time, many of the non-Austin 7 Club people at that meeting were freely laying into the Austin 7 Club members verbally, it was great fun.) Happy Days !
Jozza Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 I hope to go to this in our Austin 'Se7en' Mini. Spent most of this weekend welding the front end up so it just needs the 'power pack' plumbing back in and an MOT. I suppose Plan B would be the sister's Mini Rose but I find that cripplingly uncomfortable to drive more than 500 yards...and it's got a pink roof and flowers on the side.
Station Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 There appears to be a confusing clash in direction at around the toilet on that diagram.
HMC Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Was going to go in an 800 of some sort, but this may displease the Austin 7 people as its actually cowley built, would be in the spirit of things though

dollywobbler Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Aye, it's open to anything with a BL link really. Can't find a link to my BX so it'll be either parked on the road somewhere, or my mate's driveway nearby.
Albert Ross Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 So would a 1970 Land Rover be eligible? It has plughole of doom casting marks on it......
AnthonyG Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Is there a public car park? I quite fancy going to this but I doubt they'll want a 2007 Mondeo parked up next to a Somerset!
Lord Sterling Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Is there a public car park? I quite fancy going to this but I doubt they'll want a 2007 Mondeo parked up next to a Somerset! There is a small public carpark just by the entrance to the field, its free too.
Angrydicky Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 I might be able to make it, if so I'll be there in my blue Austin Cambridge. Depends if I can get someone to cover my Saturday at work, but I will try.
Autoplas Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 For added authenticity the stewards should decide to go on strike after only a few people have been let in and then picket the entrance

dollywobbler Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Weather forecast is Bollocks Hail at the moment. Should be fun!

Baseball bat In case anybody wielding a clipboard approaches your vehicle to talk about those "non-standard wheeltrims" you have on there... Either way, bugger, a free day out three miles from my house and I'm at my parents' this weekend
Alexg Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 7. Fanny repellant. A field full of British motoring failure will attract hot crumpet like a moth to a flame. You have been warned
blguy1975 Posted April 12, 2012 Author Posted April 12, 2012 Right ,Who is going and What are You Taking ,I'm taking Hector the 1300 Super (-:
catsinthewelder Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Barring anything rubbish happening I'll be there tomorrow, the Austin 1100 probably won't be however so it'll be in a bluey green VW camper or a white BX estate in the carpark. I'll pm the others who are going my mobile number as apart from DW I wouldn't recognise anyone from here
dollywobbler Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 I'll be in my BX, but a mate who I'm collecting some bits from lives nearby, so might park at his.
vulgalour Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 You'll have to pretend I'm there, maybe photoshop the beige bus in on a few photographs from the show.
Lord Sterling Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Sorry, can't make this now. Unfortunately for the MG-Rover lot, I'll be there in this: Maybe we could all meet by my car at some point? It'll be in the public carpark as I just cant be arsed to disply it. If I'm not by my car, look out for a bespeckled, bearded limping bloke.
