When did you last see a Seat Malaga?

This is my first post on Autoshite! I was wondering when last anyone had seen a Seat Malaga? They are very rare now. According to 'How many left' there is only one taxed. There was one on a vehicle salvage site about 2 years ago which has now long gone sadly :(

Welcome to the site :)

I think the last time I saw a Malaga - in either saloon or Ronda hatchback form - was 1998 or so. There were quite a few in the part of Kent where I grew up at one point (Not to mention Ibizas, Marbellas and Terras), as the local VW dealer took a SEAT franchise in the mid-1980s, which it still has.

I didn't even see a Seat Malaga in Spain last summer even though I saw loads of Marbellas and the odd Terra.

About three years ago in Cross Hills, West Yorkshire. It was driving towards me so never got a picture. Never seen it since either unfortunately.

Wow only three years ago I wonder if it's thats the one that's still taxed?

There is (or was) a red one in Bamber Bridge up to last winter.

What does it matter? They weren't all that when they were new, just an Ibiza with a boot (which was a Ritmo knock-off) with worse stodgy steering.

What we need to worry about is Ronda

Oh hang on...

Cross Hills is in the old West Riding, but is just inside North Yorks these days.[/pedant]

What colour was it MrL? I'll keep my eyes peeled, it's on my patch.

The last Malaga I saw was one I bought at auction in about 2003. It was a maroon 1.5 GLX and I paid £150 for it. Not the most exciting car I've ever owned...

not since early 2000s at the very latest. Seat as a brand was totally anonymous in the UK back then, before VW got involved big time and not that many were sold. There was a seat dealer not far from me in Tutshill, I think they only lasted with the brand a couple of years. didn't they used to like putting "system porsche" on the side of the car? like everyone will be fooled into thinking the dismal 1.2 hatchback is actually a rip snorting flat six autobahn stormer?

In the late 80s/early 90s there used to be a left hand drive SEAT Ronda (Fiat Strada shape) occasionally parked outside my next door neighbour's house. other than that, cannot recall the last time I have seen a Malaga.
