I have a couple of wheels that I think are correct for the Olds; does it have more than the one I can see?  At the same gauge all I have (mostly) is Minilites, but there was a wider gauge at the same diameter which I think was fitted to Corvettes just before Whizzwheels appeared, and those are the others I have around me.

The Oldsmobile has two wheels,so another pair would be great.I never realised the Corvette had wider wheels,I had one many many years ago & it had wheels from an Oldsmobile or similar on the front,& Rolls Royce wheels on the back.

Just checked at the Entertainer you have to spend £15 for free click and collect. I’ll hang fire and keep an eye out, I pass it frequently anyway.

Called into Tesco last Thursday - first time I've been in there since last November, so that was a bit of a shock to the system.

Fair bit of stuff  in the toy car bins, but not much that really interested me - other than the Matchbox Plymouth Savoy, which I nabbed.

Quite a few police Mk1 Golfs dumped in there too, plus a couple of nice-looking Jag XK120 roadsters - probably should have grabbed a Jaguar too, but didn't. Bah.

Quite shocked by the price of those Hot Wheels 'Real Wheels' - about £9 or something?

I can foresee tantrums at the checkout, as plenty of these dearer ones had been dumped in the standard mainline £1.49 bin - but I doubt most kids or parents alike could tell the difference between the cheap and premium range, at a glance.

Even if Tesco drop them to half price, it's still a fair oul whack...

In other news, it appears that there will be NO Tat Friday Market events on the schedule in the short term. Although some retail restrictions in Northern Ireland were lifted yesterday, this is currently limited to non-essential outdoor trading: garden centres, caravan and motorhome sales, car dealerships and car washes, for the most part. Car boot sales are still expressly prohibited, and the website for St George's Market continues to state that the market is closed.

However, the NI Executive is due to meet again on Thursday, and may be able to give some indication of when non-essential indoor retail can reopen... so take heart.

Incidentally, I was in the market this morning, sort of - in an impromptu waiting area fashioned out of a gazebo, before my first Covid jab.

Just visible through a crack in the side panel...

Is there still tat on them thar stalls?

Seemingly, nothing's been touched since it closed on Christmas Eve. Freaky.

Keep the faith, kids - a new day of tat will dawn again...

Where on earth did you find that? None on ebay in the UK that I've seen, which makes me think none have landed at Tesco either

Me too - I'd quite like the 911

Hopefully ours too - I've been in a few charity shops but I suspect there's no new stock - yet.

Smoll Eddy says the older version had better value, with its opening bonnet and tow bar as standard.

Not that well proportioned - it looks like the old casting re hashed. Still nice though.

Would I be a right bastard if I saw it in Tescos and bought a spare one to custom?

No,I'm planning on wheel swapping this one at some stage.

Despite Mattel's weird policy of restricting the number of Capris packed in their retailer assortments, I'm gonna guess it'll be like the Mk1 Escrot - insane reseller prices for the first few months, then it'll finally calm down as enough supply comes onto the market to not make it worth the scalpers' effort any more.

Still, I'm well jel, as the kids probably haven't said for the past six years.

I take it back - found another charity shop with those irritating £1 plastic bags, so I have some Chinese toot as well as a Zylmex Z-car,

I went on and dusted off the dormant account.

Ordered both the Morris Oxford Coupe and the Ford Capri together, for £6.39 after tax and coupon.  That's cheaper than the petrol chasing about finding them.  Plus I won't be tempted to put anything else in the basket while in the store

It's all your fault.

With thanks to @Amishtat there are now three Dinky Volvo 265 to caress.  These are the only colours I was after: the Made In England blue metallic and Plod livery cars, together with the Made in Italy garish orange special.  Or should that read vistoso arancione speciale.

Either way, I can sleep better now.

Jag är väldigt glad.

Those ARE the only colours aren't they? Or is there a beige one?

There is the beige one.  I don't want the beige one.

1 Liverpudlian civilian - tick

1 Liverpudlian service - tick

1 Chiarian civilian - tick.

Job done 😎

Not interested in doing a custom one, unless you want to.  Volvo Vanpire, anyone?

The less good orange one awaits its turn - it will probably be a straightforward recolour and wheel swap though

I have to confess, I'd like a civvy 265.  Don't care about colour; it doesn't even have to have much paint left because I want it to paint up for my TV/film fleet.

Yes.

THOSE wheels.

The wheels that make the Dinky Alvis Stalwart look like it raided Halfords.
