Some nice stuff up there ^^ loving the loft collection, I'll show you mine one day when I don't have kids in the house, not really fair to have loads of toys cars out with nippers about.

That Sunstar Escort is awesome, RHD too. Bet it was a few pennies when it was new.

Last instalment, honest!

Sadly by now, it was getting late, and the need to get shit loads of toy cars boxed up and back into the loft was now pressing.

So the American Fords failed to get pictured. Surprisingly there weren't that many. A few standard modern Shelby Mustangs (they do a pretty good job of the 2017 Shelby), a couple of earlier GT350s, a Fox Body Mustang, a couple of Torinos and a few '60s style Cougars represent the Ford's.

A few Chevys got papped though...

IMG_20200531_173431.thumb.jpg.ff5b0f601cfa95b3904509daa9510812.jpg

I love that '70 Chevelle casting

IMG_20200531_173530.thumb.jpg.866ef00af4e3ef11d018e9335c1ce836.jpg

A couple of 'different' takes on the Bel-Air

IMG_20200531_172442.thumb.jpg.2a16e1eb9257e38fe863f63855bf8441.jpg

And the Rod Squad! Somehow the grey Jerry Rigged wagon avoided getting pictured.

IMG_20200531_190549.thumb.jpg.ba7a004a3c9c7cef2a28ceb71265bfe8.jpg

Thanks to Poundland and Home Bargains, I also managed to pick up a few modern Majorette releases at knock down prices. I don't think I paid more than a quid for them, even the premium ones, I like these releases as a lot of them are just ordinary, everyday stuff, even future autoshite in a few cases. I was super chuffed to get the lime green C4 Cactus, then to find the C3 version. The Citroen Nemo is a cute thing and I like the Giulietta and Adam. The early Merc A Class compares well with the later Hot Wheels version.

IMG_20200531_190709_1.thumb.jpg.99dbc0b7e5e6f6297261e072075f888b.jpg

The 'premium' selection. The G Wagen isn't strictly my bag, but it's an impressive chunk of toy for the money.

So that's it for the mini-shite selection. I'm.sure there are a few more.

No doubt about it, it's easy to get hooked on these little b'stards. At least with the lockdown, I'm not out shopping as much, so little shite purchases have been curtailed a little...

Loving those collections! All three posts are pretty much what my collection would be if I put my mind to it! I do love the Jazz (City), mostly as I used to own one, but I only have 3 variations, didn't know there was that many.

Not glued back together yet (I've ran out of superglue). But here's the mostly finished BX

The collection looks pretty similar to how mine was, then I decided to get rid of all the modern cars. There's still a LOT of cars in boxes, I might have another sort out when the weather's not so nice as it is getting a bit out of hand.

It wasn't too bad when I got it, way back when. They had just come out, so were about £25 a throw new. Prices have gone pretty stratospheric now for them, though. I got the Ghia as a Christmas present, along with the 1600 Sports in white and red. That was a good Christmas! The red 1600 Sport has survived pretty well, but needs mirrors. The white one hasn't been so lucky, they used to live on a shelf, and the white one took a tumble one day. So its missing mirrors, a couple of bumper corners and one of the front hub assemblies is superglued on. Won't part with them though!

Ahhhh....  so it was you that picked it up!  I was trying to do a deal with the seller a good few weeks back but I was being tight and he was being ignoring.

IIRC the ad description was sparse and it took a while to get the dimensions/scale off the seller.  Oh well too late now.

Somewhere I've got a Darda Peugeot 205. Haven't given it a thought for years but yes, it was the fastest pull-back I ever had. It used to wheelspin like fuck on my grandparents' kitchen floor.

All this talk of fast pull back cars...

Did anyone have the twin engined ones, where the blue FWD engine was slow and the red RWD engine was fast? I had a blue vw golf...

Any love for gen-3 Chevrolet Monte Carlos?

Afraid so back here, not least since Denzel Washinton smoked one about in Training Day (20 years ago!) and a tad more recently the Jesse Pinkman car in Breaking Bad

i001953.jpg unnamed.jpg

Hot Wheels did an open roof low-rider and a later daft 'hi-rider', both under the model name Montezoomer.

20200603_003408985_iOS.jpg

The snazzy paint job yellow one is a re-release and my favourite of the lot.

The stupid wheels black one wants sending off to be rebuilt as the 'camouflage range' paint job is nothing special and looks more hick than hot.  Apart from that, I think best to remove the daft undercarriage completely while at it, as it looks more back-ache than bitchin'

I have something similar, but it's made by majorette, the front collapses in when it hits something.

That’s pretty good effort and you were right about matching the wheels

It also looks just like my Dad’s one back in the early 90s so you have buyer here ?

Tada!

I just remembered them being matchbox, so threw that into my search string.

I think the 'Takara' bit is the size, like a 'Penny Racer' style.

I've been watching it for a while, sold a few bits so decided to go for it. Looks better than in the listing.

I have one (and I've been watching that one on eBay), mine is missing a wheel centre so I'm pondering getting a better one.

No matter how well you do, there's always someone who did it better.

Posted on Facebook, apparently this started out as a standard Norev one too

Don't beat yourself up. That is a Norev, but it's one of the modern castings, which is significantly more detailed than the '80s one! Other than the wheels and transfers that's not so different from how it started out...

To that end, I'd certainly be interested in a comparison of that Novacar Caprice with Majorette's own offering, as I always wondered if it was a straight copy...

Had a few odds and sods arrive, not sure whether this Corgi SD1 is meant to have the lights detailed, but it also has no glass except in the tailgate. Hasn't been apart

Got to thinking, how many Citroens do I have, and then, how many French cars do I have. The answer is surprisingly few.

Here they are:

Got to have a Matra Rancho.

Corgi Renault Traffic, Majorette Twingo, Matchbox 11, Hot wheels Alpine. I'm surprised there aren't more French hot wheels models.
