Was a similar biscuit tin

That one not typical as it has La Poste logo.  Postal Service biscuit gift?

There is something endearing about that Mustang - sort of Hoonigan on the cheap

Yes I reckon I could make that better with just a bit of dressing up in the wheel department

Or go one better and fit the top part of the body to a boat chassis.  Hey presto!  Minimetal Hoonigan Mustang aka Boatigan.

I tell you what I'm proud of, in a dad sort of way, is that my littlun can identify even obscure cars just from the shapes etc. He was the one who suggested all the explanations for the crap mouldings, and he shocked me earlier when I picked this car up and he just said, matter of factly, 'AMC Gremlin'. It hadn't even occurred to me.

Pm me address...your dad will love it !!! Maybe!

Great, I'll polish it up keep it back for him - as him and Mum have been stuck in the (far stricter) French lock-down and stuck at their tumbledown cottage in Brittany since early March....   all ferries cancelled and still are

Oh look!  Sitting next to a superbly intact Corgi Ford Thames Commer TV van !

Needs dusting down, fondling and photographing for this very thread

I have featured it in the past, @quicksilver very kindly gave me a bag of play worn cars which lives under my desk, but @Mrs6C pulled this one out as being too good for the also ran bag and it now lives on the shelve collecting dust.

My main collection has around 180 very dusty cars that need cleaning and I know you would volunteer to drive up and clean them if only it was not for lockdown!

Sounds good. I have the Heller kit which I don't think has that option, and is also a bit weird in that the doors are clear mouldings integral with the windows so will need careful masking.

It must be based on the same, as this has the same clear mouldings for the interior doors.
gonna have to be handpainted, as i'm shit with masking.
Interior innit so no one will see..

Currently trying to work out how mud looks.

I'm Colour-blind so that don't help in the slightest.

How to confuse a Ramrod.... I had to go back and look at the pic.  Of course we are looking at a Commer, not a Thames!

I too am intrigued by the concept of an "also-ran" bag.  Anything that might make such a bag here is either sold off, or put aside for a restoration.  Anything I deem too good for restoration goes out on display, assuming I can find a space.

Oh and a parcel from Mr Laurel arrived today!  Pics tomorrow sometime.

The bag contained as assortment

I have this photo, but there are a few more.

Edit - getting these out again is for more fun than sleeping so here are the rest.

Sorry about that. In my defence it was up on a shelf and I was so sure there was a Thames 400E in that colour.  Either way, all that happened before I was born....  was I getting mixed up with the big 1/22-ish Telsalda plastic copies?

My collection is the cars I have owned in the past, had as company cars and own now.

I have been strict with myself not to buy random models because of where to put them but as these were a gift they do not count, that's right isn't it!
