Shite in Miniature II

More waterslide experimentation. This time a replica of my old H van using a 1/24 Welly as a base.

As usual for me it's driving the graphics software that's been my main hassle hence there's a few errors.

I'm not that happy with the results close up but it looks ok from a distance. Much like the real van.

Apparently there's some fancy modelling solutions to apply to reduce silvering and to aid application over

uneven surfaces so I'll be trying them out on my next project.

First pic is the real van ,then the Welly, then my results.

I've had incoming, including the 'not Sweeney, honest guv' Mk2 Granada 2.8iS pre facelift. The certificate mentions it chasing old Jaguars on the telly box, and that it was part of Ford's pres & promotional fleet. Cararamalamadamadingdong P38 & Bond Miserati Trans Turbot came from a fb group unboxed n cheap, Rangey had no lightbar, and the Mierable had no mirrors, my spares stash found a perfect fit lightbar, and the mirrors are a smidge too big, but meh. The Rangey also had a nonsense reg plate, but now has an 'Essix innit' reg number, looks nice sat with my other plod models. Eagerly await further chod :)

That Citroen H looks the doggies whatsits, well done

The yellow bits are paint. The Martinet graphics are lifted from the first photo of the original van. Other bits are just whatever I could find close enough in my graphics software. Next time I'll get left and right correct, maybe on 1/12 Norse.

I think you are selling yourself really short here FC, it looks brilliant to me, well done, raising my beer to you, which is a bottle of Old Speckled Hen, done for the Sherpa Sports Coupe & Cabriolet mob, aka an Autoshite beer LOL

Nice job on the H indeed, I think it looks fantastic. That must be quite big in 1/24 scale.

What is your preferred base plate reattachment solution folks? Say on this Corgi.

2 part epoxy, or if being tight UHU or Bostik all purpose glues

I drill it centrally and re rivet it. Or failing that I tap another thread and use a screw.

Something very wobbly and plastic that I wished I'd never sold, Stahlberg Ovlovlovlovlov 345GLS, must be about 10 years ago it left the fleet

I think I need to drill down further, I only did far enough to get the original rivets out. Will try that first.

Couple of Vanguards I own which I no longer want.

I was thinking £20 for the Capri, £20 for the Escort and £25 each for Granada and Cortina?

Or £75 all in.

I'll take the Granada please Bramz. Been after that one for ages.

Its what I do.   You can buy new rivet head mushrooms from Steve Flowers and the like which you can then glue over the hole.....

Any interest in this before it goes on eBay?.

It's a 1/18 Peugeot 406 V6 Coupe,bought when I thought I might get a real one.The model is in perfect condition,the box has a bit of wear.

£30 posted or make me an offer?

If anyone wants both of these for cost of postage (say £3) for restoring or parts let me know.

The above came from a Lesney stash at my folks, but these two I think I'll be keeping, and I might restore the Zodiac, as new bonnets seem to be available...

So here's my restored taxi, I used some araldite on the base in the end, not the best re-spray, but new glass, new tyres and some sharpie brightwork...

Nice job....The casting had a long life and these early flat hub ones are noticeably sharper.
