Market stall purchase, this morning.

post-17915-0-34896300-1528456667_thumb.jpg

With a bit of space cleared from the unexpectedly brisk diecast sales, I'm feeling I can start looking at the kind of models I would have bought 25 years ago, had they been available...

Big thanks to datsuncog for sorting the Eleanor models.

Glad they got to you safely - still tons on the shelves, should anyone else fancy a couple?

Also - on reading the film plot synopsis on the back, I'm wondering whether getting the name of H.B. Halicki's character wrong on the packaging was the cause of them all ending up in a discount store?

post-17915-0-71869700-1528457123_thumb.jpg

Yeah, that should be 'Maindrian Pace', not 'Mandarin Pace'. That'll be someone's autocorrect, I'll wager.

I understand Denice Halicki is quite picky about her late husband's legacy.

^ Someone (Possibly here, possibly not) said that all the Greenlight Eleanors were seconds and that there were slight issues with them - possibly with the wheels / tyres although I could be imagining the whole thing. Its been a long week.

One of my favourite modern(ish) Matchbox castings.

The Oldsmobile Vista cruiser.

Had to do a wheel swap on this as they were rusted solid.

The rest cleaned up nice though.

I didn't have it in this colour,So it's a welcome addition.

Next is this Majorette Renault 18.

Been after one of these for a while.

This one was a wreck,No paint and a hole in the roof.

It was originally yellow so I guess it was a taxi.

It does have a driver and a back seat passenger.

Also just finished this Siku Opel Kadett, this was missing a wheel and had a damaged opening tailgate,I couldn't fix it so just bonded it in place.

The wheels came from a Majorette fantasy car,but if you squint they look like Rostyles!

Quick coat of paint later...

Not one of siku's finest castings it must be said.

Not a very imaginative paint scheme here, but I like red ADOs.

I chopped a few of that Lledo wrecker castings up, and mated the rear body to EFE chassis with TK and Ergo cabs many moons ago. I'm doing a trade with a mate re my orange mk2 RS2000, I'm getting a silver Vanguards Mk2 Granada 2.8iS, aka Regan's motor in the Sweeney 2

I went to a modelling exhibition today, just happened on it as I was out at work, loads of good stuff there but sadly my phones memory is as fucked as mine so only got a few pics.

These are all scratch built models.

The Traction Avant was very impressive, all the lights worked, even the brake lights when the brake pedal was pushed. Also the horn worked on the button.

It was for sale for 800 euros.

I didn't have 800 euros on me so I slashed out 7.50 on a shoddy tin plate Mehari full of chocolate :)

Also approved. Some gorgeous stuff there, I have some of those as I like Murrican cars. The black 59 Impala is super lovely but then I am somewhat biased as this 1:1 version has been hanging around in my life for some 29 years now. It used to have whitewalls and fender skirts too.

Gorgeous, I'd love the real thing but for the moment have to make do with 1/43!

One day I will buy a 50/60s American V8, that much I know.

I has the sads. My parcel of diecast goodness from Datsuncog hasn't arrived yet so I can't spend my Sunday playing with them :( Fingers crossed it turns up on Monday as Royal Fail's tracking* is as useful as a cat flap in an elephant house - there is nothing between sent and delivered so I have no idea where it is.

In happier news, I'm catching up on the new Oxford Diecast plans released via Facebook last night and they've only gone and done a 1/76 Maxi! My prayers have been answered and I can't wait until it comes out towards the end of the year.

Might have some stuff for sale soon, as I'm trying to free up some funds for other things.

Might have a Swampy MK3 Cortina amongst them, shall see what I have.

There was a box of treasure from Datsuncog waiting for me when I arrived home yesterday, and rather softened the blow of holiday's end. Beautifully packed, too. If Christmas is as rewarding I'll be very surprised.

Cheers Tim!

That has a serious dose of the wobbles, well bought JM
