Are the Beetle and Ice cream van repaints??   Never seen a red VW with the chrome hubs and if the ice cream van is original its quite an uncommon colour scheme!

Seem original to me.

Ice cream van has Lyons maid stickers on it

JYD a nice haul as always, those green Ford Trucks are nice representations of the real thing, I shall add one of these to my bucket list!

I try to thin out the fleet, and it's still at the same number. Curse that shop in town and his goodies, now the hunt is back on again for a cheap donor Vanguards Fiesta in right hand drive

I sold about 2/3 of my collection during 2013/14 but its fast approaching the previous level.

I know the feeling... the bulk of my collection's still in the shed, awaiting disposal... but an alarming amount has made its way in over the past few months, from diverse sources...

At least the Laguna horror might get my arse in gear to get it sold though- funds for a replacement are pressing!

A collection is a dynamic thing.

I sold a shitload of Corgis and Dinkys at a recent Reebok Stadium fair with surprisingly good success

and used the proceeds to widen my warped Norev collection. I just raided the collection of a Spanish

Spaniard in Spain. Stay tuned.

It's a back to the roots thing.

I collect

- Warped Norevs

- 1/24 scale diecasts and Partworks from around the globe

- RW and new Matchboxes

- 1/18 scale Yanks

- 1/24-25 scale plastic model kits

- Big scale plastic model kits

What am I doing with old Corgis and Dinkys then?

Weirdly, the only thing that sells at a toy fair is this stereotypical mainstream shit.

If you deviate from that by a mere millimetre, it's a no sale.

Fucking pathetic.

I've given up selling anything.....If I no longer want it I give it away.  Otherwise I keep it and buy more of the same.   I am, I suppose, fortunate in that Mrs Rocker, in  14 years of marriage, has only ever bought me die-casts for each birthday and Christmas and encouraged the rest of the family to do the same.

Why waste money on shit I don't want?

She, not me, has discovered Lion Cars, Norev, Budgie (I already knew they existed of course) and all the much better value for money to be found therein........

on closer inspection the beetle is a repaint.

looks like it was white or cream.

what threw me was whoever painted it has painted round the stickers on the side!!

I repainted and re glazed one of those Commers years ago to look like a Bomalack bodied BF in Mr Whippy livery.

Was chatting on fb last night to Eddy, my parcel to him made him smile, I passed on the Autoshite business card I got recently from Conrad, which made Eddy smile too.

I have another bookshelf on it's way to help display stuff better too. I don't really collect Police stuff either, but now have 5 Atlas models, 2 Vanguards, & Sven von Svensson the Scandinavian Volvo.

I was on ebay all night on Thursday, looking for a diecast 'fix', nothing caught my eye, and Friday I was in town, and was just going past the second hand shop, saw the Atlas stuff, and thought Yay, if I'd had more cash on me, I would have bought more. Using my Tonka police garage to dispay some of em, but that is for sale if anyone is interested.

Being in the trade for nigh on 10 years made me se both sides of the hobby, to many it is like a drug, and seen so many people having to basically smuggle models in past their wives, I used to get wives ringing my shop up, asking if I had seen their hubby thst dsy, I always said 'no', even if said hubby was in the shop then.
