Popped into Smyths earlier on, and found a new set of Boulevards on the pegs

I only really bought it for the cage, but it's actually a really nice example

Those old early wheels Rollers in that red colour are a lovely little model. Remind me of a smaller version of the Dinky one in that colour. I’ve quite a few of them over the years.
Did they only come in that red colour?

Bit of a departure for me this. The only motorsports I follow are rallying and Isle of Man TT racing. Sports cars and Formula One don’t really have any interest for me. But there are a few classics that I absolutely adore, including this the Jaguar D Type. I picked this Brumm 1:43 example for a tenner delivered. It’s the right colour, has the hump not the fin and is just lovely especially the wheels.

I like the way old cars used to be quite narrow tracked so the wheels are tucked in behind the bodywork. It’s nicely detailed with smooth underside but separate prop axle and side exit exhaust.

Nice haul! If you decide not to keep the Joal Rivolta (I think that's what it is) I'd be keen to have it, I like toys/models with opening everything even when some are missing!

I think so, I've got one early Superfast in the same colour

Matchbox Superfast 24a Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow

And one with the bigger wheels

Matchbox Superfast 24a Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow

So odd that they did this and then the other Silver Shadow with opening doors instead

Some of you may remember a 1/43 Citroën CX I bought in Belgium from another shop near Pêle-Mêle;

20250902_131834.jpg.654086fb441094dc7f4d3ce5b07223f8.jpg

If you look into the picture, you might notice a missing wheel trim on the front,  I removed a still attached one from the rear and put it on the front.  A few nights ago, whilst at work, I found a tiny disc and immediately remembered the missing trim. When I got home, voila! It fit almost snugly.

On not such a positive note, I went and purchased what I thought was a 1/25 Sierra Sapphire Cosworth. In fact, it was a 1/43 Vitesse model and had a missing rear lamp and missing C-pillar trims:

20250925_074220.jpg.ded9a39337611f61f91e829a7651acac.jpg

I also forgot that I actually have a mint boxed 1/43 Sapphire Cosworth by Vitesse already.

20250925_074408.jpg.b3210d29d6f18496025560b08c86c6e0.jpg

Not entirely sure what I want to do with it. I may just see if I can fashion up a tail light and cut some small pieces of plastic to replace the trim.

I’ve been waiting for paint to dry this morning so instead of sitting watching it, I dug out some transfers and did some of those.

This ones getting closer to completion now. Transfers were dead easy to put on, they were ready to slide off the backing paper within seconds of dipping in the water.

IMG_8256.jpeg.d2770edcbc5c68ea0070f07429a2fd92.jpeg

Long termers on here might remember my Southern Electricity Commer van?
I finally found the transfers I had made for that (and the other SEB vans), so…

IMG_8255.jpeg.506108372c759fed45d024db46343169.jpeg

Easy!
I’ll let them dry off then give them a coat of varnish to seal them in and make them a bit more hard wearing/permenant.

I'm going to keep it for now, ideally I'll find a wrecked one with a bootlid & tyres, but if that doesn't happen I'll probably sell it on.

Many thanks to @Lord Sterling for bringing this one back from Belgium for me:

image.jpeg.66ef269d07540d3587376f9778bf5e8d.jpeg

I've started taking some of the equivalent Majorettes out of the packaging to save a bit of space, will probably do the same with the Matchbox Collectors series.

Also made a bit of progress on this 1/24 build:

1:24 Fujimi Nissan Skyline GT-R C110

1:24 Fujimi Nissan Skyline GT-R C110

Sitting on the wide steels that were intended to replicate the HW inspiration, but as the blue is a bit darker I might go in a slightly different direction and fit these instead:

1:24 Fujimi Nissan Skyline GT-R C110

They should suit it nicely with gold-painted centres (as they typically would be at 1:1), and the suspension as low as possible.

1:24 Fujimi Nissan Skyline GT-R C110

Interior pretty much done, complete with imitation suede for the carpets and much time spent trimming out the seven decals for well-stocked dashboard. Even managed to get them all in the right place, and correctly rotated.

Main job now is detailing the bodyshell, with some dark grey/gunmetal painting plus foil for the brightwork.

Is the dog just about to have a whizz on the inconveniently low petrol filler flap? Metro certainly looks a little nervous about it. Girl at the back looks shifty too, is she pinching the tail light bulbs? And the chap seems to be the stereotypical late 1970s/early '80s English teacher.
