Shite in Miniature II

It was disgustingly expensive, and is tiny (bit smaller than a hotwheels/matchbox) but its a nicely made little thing, if you like delicas, or jackie chan and want to spend 40 odd quid 😂

I’ve built up the shop & house fronts for my little display/diorama type thing.

This is the kind of idea I’m going for. Lined up along the back of a shelf with roads etc painted on then some vehicles on display.

The buildings need their bases altering when I decide exactly where/how they’ll fit on. Some extras will go on the buildings too later.
The shop was designed for a 30’s or 40’s era really as it came with loads of advertising signs from around then. I’ve been online and found some more suitable 70’s ish era ones to replace them.

Yes he was, and there was just a single K case. Nice enough chap, collects and does a few wheel swaps etc. Offered me some of the Ferraris so obviously wasn't too much of a scalper.

Nothing for me, but I did find a pound shop selling some @ambassador84 might be interested in

Oooooooh yes he certainly is! I did wonder whether these M2 Machines copies would end up over here. Was it an independent Pound shop?

KP-1! Good find, I've been looking out for those. Different colours to the Superkings versions and no stickers

Is KP-1 a good thing? You can tell I'm not a 'serious' collector, I just buy what I like or had when I was a kid. I don't like the CC with stickers - I can't remember if what I had in the 70s had stickers, but I would have removed them. I noticed there were a few different versions when searching - stickers, interior colour etc. I think this is the most faithful to my memory of what I owned back then!

Having read Bunglebus post on The Entertainer and how the hobby of collecting new Hot Wheels releases has reached fever pitch, invaded by scalpers etc! I was thrilled to find the last pieces of Case N I was after at a Poundland this morning. Despite already been picked through I was amazed to still find the sought after Jaguar and Porsche 911.

An idea for the roads - use a roll of appropriate grade wet and dry with lines painted on for more detail.

Those tiny little models are pretty pricey, it's true! I shelled out a similar whack for this facelifted Mk1 Yaris 5-dr a few months back as a gift:

IMG_20250519_1804212.jpg.9491e1ed9ca4ea700001d4a5d0664431.jpg

Not many other choices when looking for such a specific model, and the recipient was happy so I guess that's the most important bit!

Good is relative, but they're generally more unusual than the regular Superkings.

The Caper Cart and gold single seater turn up quite often, but then there are versions of the Capri that certainly do not.

Caper Cart in KP-1 flavour seems to come in a lighter blue than the previous ones, and with either yellow or white interiors. There's also a sought-after copper version.

Matchbox Superkings K-55 Corvette Caper Cart

Other notable KP-1s include the black AMX, with either caramel or white interiors, and clear windows

Matchbox Superkings K-54 AMX Javelin

Here are a few more examples that went through Vectis

There's one I've only seen a picture of, and now I can't find it. I'm intending to create my own...

Anyone know about 1/18 ERTL Chargers?

I've got a F&F and a General that might need to get moved on to raise funds and cabinet space for something more silly.

Apparently there are different iterations of these and it effects their desirability and value, can anyone help me out with which ones these are?

I'm pretty sure I've had them well in excess of 20 years!

So, my new toy has finally arrived... Otto 1/12 scale Charger. Absolutely massive, but really lovely!

This means that the 1/18 Dukes version and probably the 1/18 Toretto Charger will have to go as the cabinet is now oversubscribed. Will do a proper ad later, but a few folks on here expressed interest.

I don't have the original boxes so if they are to be posted you would have to bear with me while I find a way to package them securely. Having said that, if you live anywhere in between the M1/M4/M5/M40 'triangle' I may well be able to hand deliver.

It really is. I've wanted one for years, but they seem to sell for £6-700!! I just happened to see a listing for one on eBay for about £150 which turned out to be a pre-order which was available to certain resellers only. I took a punt on it and waited more than 2 months with very little communication from the seller, one or two word answers in French only. I was genuinely surprised when it actually turned up and wasn't a box full of potatoes!

What's the crack with metal bases on HW? This 2006 '65 Malibu feels substantial with a decent metal base. Are most of  the newer HW plastic bases instead? Shame if so.

Metal bases tend to indicate older castings, mainlines are almost all plastic bases now, premium releases are normally all metal.

I can't say plastic bases bother me too much, they make my life easier when it comes to customising and wheel swapping if nothing else

In Lewes today and couldn't resist some IXO model Renners in a junk shop

IMG_2588.JPG.53308cc3f193f16e288a7cb73b88d55d.JPG

£3 each was ok by me

IMG_2589.JPG.f06fcb9cd9f580410523324caf964740.JPG

I already have a few R12s and recently bought another Norev metal one

IMG_2587.JPG.93e6881c51273ef07db44c925f686eef.JPG

I have a Corgi transporter with a load of R12s and intend to make up another one. I have some suitable cabs from Dan to use instead of the Corgi Ford/Bedford ones. A couple of weeks ago one of the cats went along the shelf and knocked the transporter off onto my work bench! Amazingly the transporter and five Norev Renaults were almost unscathed, only the red metal R12 that I made a door and bonnet for has now got collapsed suspension on the front. Unfortunately the Spot On Thames Trader I'd just finished was chipped and I couldn't successfully touch it in so I've stripped it again. The Austin Cambridge and caravan I managed to touch in ok.

IMG_2590.JPG.9237b608c77f6a8269c91d14765c61e9.JPG

The estate is a Solido, the red one at the back is a Pilen. The two on the front left are Norev metal and the two on the right are Norev plastic.

IMG_2591.JPG.65092ec2d64ef751fcba33ce6c29ccf7.JPG

I have another transporter with other Renaults on as well

IMG_2592.JPG.50de2a35a3424a1f6bac302484dc30e7.JPG

As I said I often buy the same model again and after renovating a Mebetpys Hot Wheels Fiat Mirafiori, I bought another one and a Solido

IMG_2593.JPG.c53fe2de257308df59a05646ce912365.JPG

I also bought a Super Kings XR4i for £3 in Rye the other day and I wondered how many I already had.

IMG_2596.JPG.4aefa98fd831bbe88a660bcde2dadbc9.JPG

I think this is all of them (two are obviously Cosworths)

IMG_2597.JPG.f8fadc165f051f76fb4fce2b0a371dc3.JPG

A while ago someone said they needed seat backs for a King Size XR4i, was it @155V6? Anyway I've some seat backs that look like they should fit even if they're not exactly the same if you want them
