You speak for yourself, child!  I'm much older than that phone.  That Lotus Cortina though.... yes please!

😆 I had that phone on wheels!
Thinking about it now though, whose idea was it to put a phone on wheels and call it a toy!? Why!?!

For those adults that still watch cartoons and stuff, there was one on Toy Story I think. The one where they got donated to the play school.

And I'm the same age as your dad, Dan, we've established that... :)

Toy Story is 30 years old this year.  Even Cars is 19!

Toy Story is 30! Shit! Where does time go. I remember watching it when it first came out. Shrek was another of those early computer animated films and I remember that too.

Shrek is the same age as my Omega: 24.  It's probably a good idea not to think of this stuff, isn't it!

Back on topic: nothing to report model-wise over the last couple of weeks.  Hoping to get some work done in the coming week or so.

Aren’t they supposed to be quite collectible now? Same as those porcelain pigs from NatWest or whatever?

I still think maybe I should have picked it up - as for the pigs, they're worth naff all - for the common ones such as mum dad and the baby. However the ones you only got once you'd saved significant amounts of money are quite valuable. My partner was recently given a Cousin Westley by her uncle, they're not all all common. Rarest are the metal plated ones, never seen those at a boot sale but the regular ones are part of our "boot sale bingo" game where we score points for things such as commemorative items from Royal weddings and coronations, animal print clothing, Katie Price biographies, "racist rabbit" (Bing), and the aforementioned Fisher Price telephone

No it's ok (but thanks very much for the offer). I've bought too much stuff lately already !

That's very good for a boxed Coles Crane. I alsonhave a nice unboxed one and they're quite a large and heavy model, very nice indeed.

It’s at the point now where building the shed is about done and I’ve got the pleasure of going through all my boxes of toys detailed models and finding places to put things.
It’s fun finding things you don’t remember having though, and rediscovering things you haven’t seen for ages.

Don’t remember having this Chevy either. It must be one of the scarcer ones at a guess as I can’t remember seeing many others around either?

I still love the Matchbox Mitsubishi. Lovely looking car.

I remember the blue Gremlin but can’t remember getting the white one. Nice surprise!

Got this in the post too.
Been after this model for ages but it’s not one that comes up much.

I’d open them, they’re there to be enjoyed not worrying about getting another £5 for them 20 years down the line! 😂

I’m inclined to agree tbh!
Im not even sure these ones will ever be worth much anyway. Plus, once they’re open they can sit on a shelf somewhere without the stupid packaging getting in the way.

Yes, it's good fun to go through piles of stuff that have been stored away for a while and have a period of rediscovery. I'm looking forward to doing more of that as my 3-day weekends really start to take effect and I sort (play) with what I have in the garage.

The Celeste is very nice, I'm envious of that one.

Volvo looks good, though the grille style and skinny bumpers suggest somewhat earlier than 1973? They've accurately modelled the somewhat annoying use of the saloon's rear doors - given how many 145/245 estates must have been produced over the years I think Volvo could have paid for a tooling change and different glass to give it bespoke rear doors multiple times over!

I think I'm going to start opening-up most of my HW/Matchbox packs, until now it hasn't been a problem to start another box but I'm running out of room for that to keep happening. Perhaps have a display which I periodically update like I do with the old Majorettes next to me at work?
