Shite in Miniature II

Various boxes of tiny tat have arrived, starting with Matchbox

Bought a pair of everyone's favourite Porsche, the Super Kings K101, as the red one looked in better nick than my current one

PXL_20250226_142752555.thumb.jpg.f8d5a4429c1fc7f2459d4b7fbe0f9056.jpg

But the white one is actually the standout, can you see it?

My other one:

Matchbox Super Kings K101 Racing Porsche

Funny enough I was asking an avid Super Kings collector about this version a few days ago, and he suggested the blue sides were dropped before production

Smaller stuff includes a Maxi Taxi - I wonder if black Square do the decals?

Talking of Jeeps, a CJ6 - but for some reason having a slightly different base to my other one, what did this change achieve?

This version of the turbo nutter 205 isn't common, in great condition too

The hype surrounding the Matchbox 1983 Ford Fiesta Mk2, predictably here in the UK, still hasn't died down yet despite the green one being vastly better supplied than the debut red version which hardly got a look in here! Could you imagine the hoarding and scalping if they ever do a MK1!

Happily Guisval are here to service your Fast Ford Needs with their ancient Mk1 casting which they've been producing on and off since the late 70s. New or old they can get fairly expensive on the secondary market despite still being in production.

Goodness me this little Mira Fiesta is testing my patience. Managed to drill a 1mm hole in place of each of the axle pegs, and broke two bits off inside the base! Luckily I can still push a short axle through a wheel into each hole.

Then I started testing a few options, and they stick out more on one side of the casting than the other

I'll ignore that for a while and look at some new bits instead, such as these diddy Schuco Piccolos

Its a Matchbox item, usually paired with the Ford Tractor (MB Superfast #46)

Well this is called Shite In Miniature and believe me my collection is full of the Far Eastern tat/shite most people would happily crush into dust! 😅

I try to see the best in most diecast, even some HTI Teamsterz generics if I've drank enough gin!

So step forward this grotesque unlicensed BMW X5 (E70) found in a Chinese bazaar recently. Made by Tian Hong, the company behind some of those budget multisets currently available in Smyths Toys, it does at least have an authentic Spanish livery on its side....

Tian Hong Renault Master, the casting is a Matchbox copy though ironically this actually possesses a metal body!

TK Maxx is capable of surprising me, on occasion:

My local branch had a load of these Shuang Da branded toys a year or so back; the StreetKa was pretty nicely done.

Despite their limitations, I really like those reissued Guisvals - I had a few as a kid, and was most disheartened when they just fell to bits during fairly undemanding play. My bronze Mk1 Fiesta was the one I mourned the most.

Mira toys had a wonderful heft to them:

20190111_092310.jpg

Just a shame that they really lost their way in the 1980s!

Great to see some from your collection, welcome aboard and thanks for sharing!

That has reminded me,I never did find one of those StreetKas 🙁

Not a promotional. I don't know why they have SHELL on the box, but all Piccolos have it.

All the ones in my race set have it.

I’ve been emptying boxes gradually over the last few weeks and you’ll all be so very happy* to know I’ve now got a couple of boxes of stuff to move on.

So, I might put a bit/all up tonight

Diecast gods were smiling on me this afternoon. Needed a set of the small diameter Hot Wheels, er, wheels for the Mira Fiesta but didn't have the style I liked in stock. I knew they are fitted to the Toyota Van and Poundstretcher had loads, so I headed that way - and noticed the market was on. Lots of interesting looking diecast mixed up with other jollop on the 50p table again

Cheeky little Hot Wheels 2025 Case E haul found at The Entertainer. This assortment has landed hard at all my surrounding Tesco stores in the last few days but alas all my stores had already been ravaged by the Hot Wheels locusts!

I didn't spot the Escort Cosworth but in my opinion it's quite a poor casting so no great loss.
