Tho I suspect they aren't white tbh, just acquired these old kits in 1/9 scale made by protar,of a racing ajs and a Manx gp Norton, still boxed, bagged and complete with instructions and waterslide transfers, any of the more professional collectors got an idea as to value? And would anyone like to buy them?

If I'd tell you the value, I couldn't buy them.

Well, I do it anyway, since anything else would be unfair, but it means I am out. The AJS is ca. £120, the Norton around £150.

BoB (last seen duetting with that tidy bird from Paramore) has released a 1:18 scale Volvo P1900 and I REALLY WANT IT before the prices shoot up. Ebay sellers are already gouging like mad.

Posted

Jon, give us a link to one and I'll do some digging...

Right. Hadn't realised it was BoS, didn't see Mr Junks post above mine! However, there is a small chance we can get them - we have managed to get a couple of BoS's via a contact in Germany before so I'll see if anything can be done. Don't get your hopes up though...

Can you please also check for the Karmann Typ 34 while you are at it?

Oh, and the Admirals, and the P7a, and the 12m and the Kapitän...

Damn. I'm too poor for this hobby.

Yep, will do. Like I say, don't get your hopes up but its not impossible.

anyone know of a mk3/4/5 Cortina (taunus the later 2)  in 1/25 or bigger besides the 2dr mmk4 ones (very expensive.

Posted

Yep, only the Neo 1/18 one which is £££££££££s.

Following recent acquisitions from quid shops, and significant eye-rolling from my other half whenever I show up with more choice purchases, I am having to seriously kerb my habit.

I also have a self-imposed max outlay of a shite-friendly £3 per model. Lobster, I'm afraid I'm far too tight to throw you much business, even if I do visit your website on a daily basis, usually with a clear liquid dripping down my chin.

Anyway. I visited a show in Sarf Essix today, and a gentleman was flogging cheapo models in a bargain bin. Here they are.

The NSX is a Del Prado blister-pak type offering, obvs some kind of partwork from somewhere at sometime. The other three are Cararama items. I've always like these, though some of them are definitely toys rather than models.

And I'm pleased to have filled the Puma-shaped gap in my collection.

That NSX has been on a few partwork series. We had them about three years back from a Japanese series - they came with a pretty large magazine which was very nice indeed if entirely written in Japanese. Nice pics in it though :)

You git. Some of those are rather nice.

Not all of them, though.....

EDIT: Changed my mind, the pimped 'dub is actually outstanding.

Did a big Antique and Collectors fair at the weekend in order to try and sell some of the accumulated shite that fills chez Ratdat. Waste of time. Covered our costs but that's about all. Hoever as compensation, I did find one thing worth buying for £8... a 1/43 AMC Javelin. I've been after one of these for ages....

It's a '70 Javelin so not exactly the same as the one I used to have (mine was a '69) but close enough. It was made by Pilen in Spain and comes in a nice little case...

Incidentally, Junkman... this week I'll be processing my shite for Beaulieu Autojumble which is next weekend so I'll pull out the various Japanese car model kits I mentioned before and snap some pics of them.

You and me both sir!  For as long as I can remember too (and I'm 55 now), although it hasn't stopped me building up a collection that puts a severe frown on MrsR's chops every time she thinks of it.  Imagine what I could do if I did have money...!

Some may remember this pic taken earlier this year, when I was younger, at the NEC resto show:

Shortly afterwards, I was very very sad, because I didn't have sufficient funds to purchase it.

I'm overjoyed to be able to announce that this has been rectified today.

Unfortunately, the model is not a very faithful representation of the original:

I'm still happy to have it, though.
