It's a bit of a problem as most are the same diameter, or so much smaller they'd look lost

A well packed PinBox arrived today, thanks Iain!

First was the Vanguards Lotus Cortina MK 220250106_151153.jpg.2f6d26e053f89f98c057cd4583500dde.jpgI always preferred these to the MK 1,& it's nice to see one in a colour that's not white

Next was the Oxford BTCC Vectra20250106_151335.jpg.ca9e75e64177a83a19d096a0bcf39a86.jpgI'm not a big fan of the road cars, but I've followed the BTCC since about 1990,& this was from the period when I still used to get to a few races

Lastly, the Realtoy DTM Opel Calibra20250106_151432.jpg.389bafab155746d9f4d35a7f42c4e8df.jpgThese are really nice castings, they have separate racing seats,& the race versions have a seperate roll cage.I've got a few Alfa 155s from the same period,& like this they're let down a bit by the wheels.Easily sorted though20250106_162544.jpg.9fe1751a4766a94fca47dd970f5336e0.jpg

Here with one of the Alfas20250106_162425.jpg.2ad60d7c1881f56d2a55728feccf2e76.jpgI just need to find a rear wing for the Calibra now

If anyone has got any of these two,or the race versions that they don't want, please let me know.I'm also looking for the Mercedes C Class in the same series.

Is that Aquatic Jade? Beautiful colour, my dad's 1600E was that shade. Only seen it on MK2 Cortinas and very rarely on a MK1 Escort

Those last two are odd - they're obviously meant to be models of the year 2000 Mini press cars but with W instead of the correct V-prefix plates. The gold one is clearly V203 LOE, the only RHD example of the export-only Knightsbridge edition, which is still alive and well on the show scene.

Dinky certainly made a better job of Reynard than Oxford Diecast did last year.

Austin_Princess_SAK562S.jpg.f19fc973d04a4ae3c871500376caa721.jpg

It's a nice metallic coppery-browny-red but too dark to be Reynard. Oxford obviously have trouble with this colour and at least it's better than their attempt at a Reynard Mini that came out red.

We got in late today and found three interesting parcels on the doorstep (actually pushed under the back gate, but you know what I mean!).

First from @Tenmil Socket swapped for some tat I didn't want a few lovely Citroens

IMG_0904.JPG.3cb458efd2c393626a10c0e0b4c74df8.JPG

They're all pretty nice, but I think the Solido GS is my fave, I need to compare it to my Norev version

IMG_0905.JPG.6e1eba95062eb80e008706a43f0a0841.JPG

Another swap for the Bburago 1/24 Alfa with @Split_Pin was this Super Kings Jag

IMG_0906.JPG.aa7f4378c7a296bcb4ae300871163531.JPG

It's a very impressive model and much better condition than I was expecting

IMG_0907.JPG.d94e252a8bd6464a8e99bf08599b6971.JPG

Thanks again to two excellent AS forum members!

The third box was a totally unexpected extra birthday present from Mrs Concern

A really nice hefty model with opening everything

It even has some tennis racquets in the boot!

The Jag and the contemporary BMW 7 Series have the trickiest opening bonnets ever! The only reason I sold this one is because I have a boxed burgundy example which is the same as the one I had as a kid.

I think the late 1980s Superkings models are among my favourites of all. The Jag, 7 Series, Cosworth and the amazingly heavy Rolls Silver Spirit are fantastic. The Transit MK3 and Bedford CF are great too, plus some brilliant trucks too.

I do seem to have a few of the Cefiro, this is probably the nicest so far.

And some more kits from an online seller:

Interesting on the blue one, it always irked me that the prefix was changed to a T. Also, the headlights on mine have badly yellowed.

I hope the cab looks decent as its an older kit. I'm going to pay particular attention to getting the big round lights right as they are a focal point of the model.
