The Studebaker was the first release in the plated finish and by far the most common.  Perhaps they made too many by creating a surplus as there were far fewer Jaguar 2.4 that followed - in fact I can’t recall seeing one but of course have had one of the Studebakers

Regarding the gift set produced, Cleemput mentioned (in his book) he was glad that production came to an end as the extra polishing by hand became a problem

I think I’m right that back in that time, the models were shipped separately to the box and it was the shop that put the model in the matching box at sale.

It would seem there was a surplus of the plated Consul if they appeared separately outside of the gift set.  Perhaps the result of production miscounting, similar to the last run of the gift set having the Corvair  replaced by the Simca 1000 Coupe that was a separately-sold plated-finish model for 1964

Yes the two-door Consul 315 Classic is depicted on the box but correct as a four-door in the catalogue

I've gone over to QR codes rather than printing labels, so I have to mark all the parcels with surnames - but you lot add an extra layer of confusion with usernames too! My eBay has gone nuts this month, I've been lugging a huge bag of parcels to the shops every other day, I can feel the eyes boring into the back of my head in the queue

Yes spotted that, not exactly common I think and weren’t part of a set exclusive, they were mainline

Blue 1970 production were naked or labelled, in stages of labelling.

Pink 1971 and 72 had same sticker level.  These were maxed-out by Glenda before lunch because Doris couldn’t be arsed with hers

The one to get and don’t think I’ve seen us the black JPS for 1972

Well it turns out I have won a raspberry box full of old toys.

There's some tractors, diggers and other plant.

There's four boats.

Some Corgi and Dinky commercials including a couple of transporters.

A mixtures of old Dinkys, Corgis and a couple of Superkings.

And hiding under all the big stuff was all these little things.

I'm going to have hours of fun cleaning them and seeing what I have.

So it was the Custom Firebird, good score - as is the Rolls Royce. The Speed Kings Cougar Dragster and Corgi Bond Bug look good too

Any model of a Citroen C4 VTS/Coupe, any model of a Volvo C30.

Models that have boot, bonnet and doors all opening.

I always like Corgi, Dinky, Spot On and King size/SuperKIngs, but I have quite a lot already.

Recently into Norev, Conrad, Inter-Cars Nacoral, Diapet Yonezawa, Polistil, Pilen etc.

Quite a wide list, but what do you have even if not on that list I may be interested.

There are three Redlines in my auction box.

We have Custom Firebird in Copper Metallic.

With the paint chips and slightly bent front axle i don't think it is in the £250 league.

The copper colour and blue screen are Hong Kong only, and Hong Kong is confirmed on the base. It has a 1967 copyright on the base as it was one of teh first sixteen to be released.

Next up is the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow in the common silver colour.

It has a dark brown interior and the usual blue tinted windows.

Mattel got the bonnet wrong, because on the actual car the bonnet hinges at the front.

The Rolls was only made in Hong Kong and first appeared in 1969.

Finally we have a Ferrari 312P in copper. The 312P was released in 1970.

This one has seen a lot of action and has lost two of the press on wheels.

The 312P came with inset, as here, and protruding door lines.

V12 engine under the cover.

Acording to the oOn Line Redline Guide a copper Hong Kong is hard to find.
