bunglebus Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 Smaller scale stuff includes Matchbox Silver Spirits The lovely Matchbox Silver Shadow in both opening boot... ...and opening door versions Shadow Coupes are lovely things, i do have a roof for the blue one now Not quite so pleasing Cloud Although still better than High Speed's effort I'm really fond of the Zylmex ones MB Phantom V has been well loved I've yet to find a Hot Wheels redline Roller, but the blackwall era Phantom II turns up regularly Not discussing this andrew e, AndyW201, eddyramrod and 7 others 10

Tenmil Socket Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 Can anyone tell me the contact details for Steve Flowers please? It's for the old fella who owns the shop I was in the other day... at the time his name escaped me and I did say Tim Flowers but on the way home I realised that he was the Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper from the 90's. flat4alfa and egg 1 1

flat4alfa Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 Doris and Ken had a Polistil 1:30 Silver Cloud for a while Although they found that Polistil appeared to have achieved a build quality standard of a Rolls Royce built in Calcutta. Bits fell off. If they didn't fall, they got bent out of shape. Not unlike Ken on THAT Golfing weekend with Shirley and Des.

Have posted before, but I took apart one of the Bburago Camargues one day and found it to consist of 58 pieces! Funny thing. Not so long after getting my first (and second, third and fourth) 1:18 Bburagos, I beseeched Mum and Dad to buy me the Camargue – because it was like a 'Normal' car. I knew that the car it resembled was a hyper-expensive plutocrats's barge, but in terms of play value, it represented the Cortina that my dad had at the time. It was kinda sorta like a regular saloon car, and I could regard it as such on the living room carpet. As such, it was denuded of its box. It's a real shame it's in 'scaled for the box' 1:22, but then again it doesn't really hold up in fine detail to be displayed alongside recent 1:18s properly anyway. Also a shame that it's the only 'big' Bburago not to have working steering. I remember this coming as a bit of a bummer on initial encounter. bunglebus, Burnside and FakeConcern 3
flat4alfa Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 The big Bburago Camargue is pretty good though for a model first released 1977 I think? They kept producing them to 1990 so that was good going. But oh those 55 dies and moulds - the poor things - they must have been exhausted. 1977-79: Brown met ; Green met ; Blue met 1979-82: Silver 1987-88: Pure White ; Cream White 1989-90: Dark Red ; Wine Red Apart from that: Quote According to unconfirmed sources, a small series (10 pieces) in black / interior grey / registration number HFM 600 N for the British Royal Family was produced in 1977 / 78 [www.bburago-collector.com] RoadworkUK 1
flat4alfa Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 Talking of Royals, picked this up recently - a chipped but almost complete model of the 1961 Rolls-Royce Phantom V that our late Queen was ferried about in. Needs a boot lid, rear bumper corner, the Royal Crest, some tyres. Spot-On just named it 'Royal Rolls Royce'. The real thing was known by 'Number One State Car', as per usual. Saw it at Sandringham and it looked lush in its 'Bible Black over Royal Claret' paint Replaced by the bomb-proof (literally) 1977 Phantom VI built for the Silver Jubilee, until the introduction of the two Bentley State Limousines for 2002 Golden Jubilee. Saw Queenie and Phil in one when she travelled up to visit the Zoo nearby in 2017. That looked proper lush. Talking of which, I wonder if the 1:43 Minichamps examples of the Bentley have dropped in value yet, must take a look. Mainly because 1) can't afford a real one, 2) unlikely to see one roffled-off on here anytime soon. Remspoor, RoadworkUK and FakeConcern 3
Remspoor Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 I am no fan of these older cars. But the detail Corgi managed to capture in this is Rolls is superb. *Image posted previously. andrew e, FakeConcern and MiniMinorMk3 3

FakeConcern Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 So another episode of “what shite have I bought on ebay?” No please don’t tell me I was so pissed I bid on a Vanguards Hillman Imp! No, no there’s something else in here... So which of you fellow addicts encouraged me to buy a Gama Opel GT? It is lovely though How come it’s as big as a Corgi Stingray? Showing off the pop up headlights Can the Corgi do this though? Thought not, what about this? Shame it’s a MIB as I never like to get them out and if I do, I have to store the box. Talking of which anyone after a Vanguards Hillman Imp box? andrew e, danthecapriman, AndyW201 and 8 others 11
bunglebus Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 Ooh, T-Hunted just posted a pre-production Hot Wheels due at some point; I always thought it was a shame they didn't make much of the previous version, I'd say this may be a premium initially going by the metal base and possibly opening boot. I'd like to see the flat front Escort RS1800 and wide arch Capri filter down to the mainline, fingers crossed AndyW201, Dick Cheeseburger, Split_Pin and 6 others 9
bunglebus Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 Having a nose around their Instagram, some good looking premiums in the pipeline for 2024. Roll hoop on the MX5 spoils it though Plus a Fiat 600 in the mainline, normal and Super Treasure Hunt Split_Pin, Burnside, AndyW201 and 2 others 5
eddyramrod Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 Except it's a 500. The 600 is completely different. What we seem to be seeing there though, is the Abarth 595SS, which I admit complicates matters a bit.
flat4alfa Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 Thing is, got them all, in ok enough shape to 'have to do' without having to rejoin. Can get zoo figures that will do out of the charity shop kids box At least, that's the excuse I'm going tell myself. For now... eddyramrod and andrew e 1 1

flat4alfa Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 Found it. The (what I now know is) Norev Jet Car Peugeot 504 Rallye body shell. So, not the Solido after all. Forgot this was tucked away until posts earlier The Norev Peugeot 404 popped over for a chat "Le Tigre dans son tank" Just noticed 404 plate is from this part of France, Département 69, Rhône Also noticed I have no other 1:43-ish Peugeots to offer.
