Hi gang - 36 new mini Norev Dacia Dusters from France for £42 posted to me in the UK.

If I bought them - I could knock them out at cost + postage for £6.50 for a set of 3, or £3.50 a set if I see you in person.

Any interest?

Who’s the chap on here with the DU57TER number plate on his Duster? He might be up for one.

Posted

Thats Graham Roberston but I don't know what his username is on here.

I have one of those Norev Dusters and I paid considerably more than the price being asked here. For a 1/55 ish scale model they are thoroughly handsome little items and very accurate.

I think it was quite bizarre how Corgi modified the old Scrote van to have fixed back doors to make it easier and of course cheaper to make, and bunged it in some frankly bizarre liveries like Securicor Omega & Powergen, plus of course Unsteady Eddie

Posted

Yeah, the first few liveries were quite realistic.   Mind you, Dirty Stopout was a guaranteed casting seller back then - there are people I have known with absolutely no interest in vehicles who seem to have hoovered up everything Eddie - even that plastic pig!

Yup, I said at the time Corgi could spray a turd green, put Stobart on the sidrand it would sell. I flogged it must be thousands of quids worth of Stobart tat over the years, the Superhaulers would fly out at a tenner a go, no need to discount, unlike most Corgi at the time, it helped as we were the Stobart retailer for Yorkshire, and got gear from them directly that many places simply couldn't

Yon tin car is by Glam Toy Products (hence the GTP reg!)  It came in a set like this....

post-5367-0-53939900-1545051947_thumb.jpg

as well as being bagged up as "Fire Car" sets, police cars etc...

I had the garage set as a child but sadly only one of the cars now remains....The door jammed IIRC (it was a pushbutton affair)..

They are one of the manufacturers that proliferated in South Wales in the immediate postwar years, such as Mettoy, Marx etc.

Limited bit of info here...

Yeah, the wheels are beyond saving...

What do you use to strip them?

I was considering stripping them down then using humbrol enamel to paint them to avoid the paint problems you get when you don’t use etch primer.

I soak them in nail varnish remover overnight contained in a plastic take away tub.

It should then just come off with a scourer or toothbrush and finally clean in soapy water and allow to dry.

I used aerosol primer and paint on the Escort above although the Lamborghini will need stripping/painting again as I made a bit of a mess of it.

Did also have corgi/vanguards mk4 cortina, mk2 granny and a crapi ghia but sold them.

A corsa b i painted up as my first car, then dropped it.

Currently waiting on some restoration/shit ones being delivered.

I think Humbrol should give a good tough finish. Plus quite economical as you only need to buy the little tins at about £1.50 a go.

Where can I get a model of an Isuzu Trooper ?

I need one to console/wind up a friend of mine who's just stuffed hers into  ditch. Very much written off :( Thankfully she's ok :)

Nothing on ebay.fr.

Did they have a different name in mainland Europe ?

In other news I've discovered the Corgi transporter I bought is 1/50 scale so in a Ricard fuelled tantrum I've blagged a fucked Norev transporter.

I'll still do the Corgi one up though.

You will like a code 3 model I have then, a red 2.0 Laser based on an Ixo Capri

In other news, Parcel Farce called earlier with a parcel from France, my 2 Schabak mk5 Scrotes in 1/43 scale, typically the estate has the very common paint issues, but I may be having a mint unboxed one coming in the new year
