Ellesmere is a lovely place...

Looks great Billy, thanks! It is on the way for Cats coming from Ludlow, too. However, Birch Hill Farm might be a members only site, I don't know if my parents are members, I'll check on that. We'll look at the places in the other link too.

@ Cats, would it be ok to meet you for the seats before we go in, so we can leave the camper outside?

I'm up for a convoy but as I don't know the area, I am happy to go along with the suggestions of people who do.

Posted

I'm only in Wrexham so that pretty much rules me out of a convoy. Although me and retro80sboy will be traveling together In my escort and his escort van.

Just a thought, who's got the banner now? Will it need to be collected from somewhere? If I can help, I certainly will!

Posted

I think Jon has it but not certain about that.

Might hook up with either Retro/Viva or blast up to Lymm, but most likely I'll go straight there as it's sort of easier plus hopefully I can make sure we get the right spec.

DS: I think you head from Nantwich towards Chester then a couple of miles outside of Nantwich at a set of lights you go straight over towards Wrexham. Probably worth pm'ing Monsieur Bewlox and Retrogeezer and seeing what their plan is.

Just catching up with this thread, Krujoe, looks like you are sorted with a camping place which is just as well as I don't have a clue!

DSdriver, Nantwich is 5 minutes from me, there is a big Sainsburys on the A530 on the way into Nantwich from Crewe, more than happy to meet here at say 9am'ish?

Mash, do you want to hook up on the way as well? Or come to my place again? Whatever is easy for you mate.

MBol could meet us at Sainburys too if he fancies a convoy of sorts.

Excellent, see you there, will pm you my mobile in case of unforeseen gremlins

Hopefully it'll be ok, I've got to sort something out at this end before I set off. That should be about 8amish then it's an hour and a quarter up so should be fine

I'm staying at the Premier Inn just up the road from that Sainsburys by the look of it so be easiest for me to meet you all there too :D

If anyone wants to meet up at Lymm, I'm game for that.

8:30AM has been mentioned ;) .

If you have any CAR mags for me, Jon, please can you drop me a PM so I have enough cash with me ? Ta :) .

I'll have a root through. Don't think there's any more than a tenner's worth there though. I do have some 1993 \ 1994 overs from my original pile which I've since replaced. I'll be in the 460 with the Yale racing stripe. :|

Oh, and I have the banner. It's at the UoS.

The exhaust on my FSO has started to blow so by Sunday it should sound epic, unless I manage to wrap a can of Stella around it, trouble is there's two pipes where it's gone. Just at a time when I'm relying on it as my sole method of transport :!:

Posted

Its a 55 mile treck for me again, I'll aim to get to Lymm at 8:30 but most likely I'll catch up with ya folks on the way or onsite, look out for us, I'll be in a Silver Mondeo Si if I don't break it before I get there. :D8)

SHIT! This is not looking goood for going in the Lancia. Floor is done now but still have not done the subframe. :( Will not drink owt this weekend and will hope the weather is good.

Well we still have my Volvo, Audi and Volksy's and Liz's Toyota's to possible come in. The DAF is apparently off darn sarf (well Midlands) on Tuesday but will wait until it actually goes until I count my chickens. There is always the possibility of a 205 GTi but will have to see if I can wangle that.

Posted

Looks like I will be in the 460. Doesn't look like the new wheels I've bought will turn up in time though.

Posted

I really wouldn't worry lads. You only have to look what I'm bringing down and anything else is going to look like the star of the show in comparison!

Posted

Im still in negotiations to bring something Farina shaped *crosses fingers*

If push comes to shove, I'l definitely have the Golf, even if its exhaust is blowing like hell at the moment.

Unfortunately the Mercury deal fell apart before it ever got going, meaning I'll not be in a big yank tank, thats for sure.

Posted

As the Mitsubishi is now unable to move on its own I won't be coming in that.

I was going to come in my little Daihatsu rally car, but 200+ mile round trip with rock hard suspension and a screaming engine isn't very appealing, so I may risk the Alfa 155.

The last time I drove the Alfa the nsf wheel bolts started undoing themselves (they're now secured with gasket seal, fingers crossed). The time before that the gearbox ate itself. It is also rather low for the grass at Chumley so I fear for the exhaust if I use that

I still haven’t decided if i’m coming to this, though i’ve got a ticket sat here. It will mean a whole week goes by with no Maserati progress – UNACCEPTABLE!

Mk14dr, would you be able to carry a Sierra drivers window back to W. Yorks for the benefit of one Daz_Hirst?

Posted

Absolutely Mr B, I'll find somewhere to stick it to transport it back. I see him in passing fairly regularly and I can it as an excuse to bob upto his and perv over his motors.

Also, Chumly being so awesome will be worth missing a week of your MAZZA-MAGIK.

It's a great show Bol, you will not regret going..

Nice one Joe, cheers.

Mr B: as others have said it's a great day out and not to be missed. I hope you can make it as it'd be great to see you there.

Posted

I wish this wasn't so far north, it sounds an excellent day out. Make sure there's plenty of photos taken to perv over when you get back!

You'll have to wang up one year Trig. There's loads of hotels etc nearby so you could score loads of brownie points and bring your bird with you.

As has recently been pointed out Trig, Chester a lovely place for a weekend away and not too far away from Cholmondeley at all.

I'll have to look into it one year, I've penciled in Shitefest for this years long distance meet now.
