Check out this OMGZ DRIFTORZ weapon, which is set to undercut the TATA NANO in price.

It's got a 1 cylinder 200cc engine so ideal for burnouts etc.

I imagine it's quite a hard thing engineering wise to build a car that retails for around $2700. If your building say a luxury car then you've got much more options and are able to plunder existing components more readily.

With this you really need to be thinking CHEAP from the ground up.

I see Windows appear to be options, and have they stolen wheels from a shopmobility scooter? LOL

Posted

I was wondering about the windows myself. You think they could have put some chicken wire in or something as a no cost option.

Looks like a shrunken Diahatsu Materia

It doesn't have a handbrake either looking at the blocks chocking the wheels. :P

Looks dangerous, but it's probably not as dangerous as an auto-rickshaw

Anything is better than the bus.

Or, 3rd class motorised transport is better than first-class tabbing.

How much is $2700 in Sterling these days? (GBP not the Rover)

Aye, and those are a 'Premium' option. Customers will be expected to provide their own half-bricks. At least no ne'er-do-well can stick said half-brick thro' the window...

It will bring the old phrase 'Chocks away' to the motoring world LOL

And only 4 seats? I would say at least 10 would fit in there judging by that old 'Police Death Crash Whoops' episode where they crammed the entire family into I think a Renner.

Read about this elsewhere, I think its more of a four wheel 'tuk-tuk' than a real effort at a car. The maker, Bajaj, is a scooter/tuk-tuk maker.

Ah, this is one of those cars where you pull the handbrake lever "up" to release by pulling the half-brick away from the tyre!

Edit: RE60, eh? The last car designated that was unsuccessful...

I agree entirely with this, and that actually makes it quite expensive. Knowing Bajaj as I do in other industries, I expect they will be doubling their money on each and every one sold.

It does look like it is all GRP as well.

I'm sorry to say - I really want one.

yes and me, I am still waiting to be able to buy a tata nano..although they reckon the Europeanised version, if it ever arrives, will be a very different machine and much more expensive

About £1700 in GBP. Autoshiters could all buy a brand new one ... imagine the depreciation ..

The crash test video should be good! character0196.gif

And as for the depreciation...

At least two of us will be waiting for the first MoT failures to hit the auctions.... and of those, at least one will be keeping his hands in his pockets! I like as much steel as my pound will buy me. :D
