Yes, it's slammed to the floor and it looks cool, it fact, it looks spectacular and as far as I can tell it works well!

I swapped it for my Micra, swayed by it's lithe good looks, the epic stereo / CD / DVD, it screams out fast, stylish, young blade about town....

and then I drive it and it screams twat

I have driven it 10 miles, hundreds of potholes and sleeping policemen and despite the fact that i's well built and reliable enough I never want to drive it again, anyone want to swap it for something sensible or just something drivable by a fat, middleaged twat without getting laughed at?

It's got loads of MOT & Tax etc and would suit someone who's drive to work is on a snooker table.

It will will end up on RR inevitably but I can't put "I Hate..." as the subject in a for sale thread so you lot get to go first!

Cue tumbleweed, and I don't blame you

I like that. Be out of my price though i fear.lol.

Price Range?

Ha, I just want a swap, right now pretty much anything will do!

I'm so old now (38) that whenever I see something Slammed Innit Yo! bouncing down the road towards me I hear myself thinking

"Congratulations you cockwand, you took a useful car and made it totally undriveable."

Dammit. All I've got that would be a possible swapper is the Heep right at this moment. And that needs a bloody good service.

Posted

Tontops, it looks amazing at 20 mph...or slower

Pete, what's the Heep?

It's got working LPG too. I've got a big box of bits that need fitting to it, which I keep meaning to get around to, and it needs the handbrake shoes sorting out, but there are rear discs in the big box.

122k on the clock, loads of tax but I think the MOT runs out Jan.

Lol. Im not daft i wouldnt expect a level swap bud........im not that cheeky.lol. If you fancy mine and some bucks your way thats cool.

Is that Pandamonium's old one? He does like his silly low stuff.

I had a standard one of these and it was an excellent car, noisy gearbox bearing notwithstanding. That one's probably not for me though, soz.

Have you considered UNslamming it Yo!

A set of standard springs would return it once again to being a nice useful car.

Plus you could 'bay the lowering springs for a cretin to ruin another nice car with.

Mk1 Sceptre/Singer Vogue or a PA Cresta/Velox? Far better vehicle even in current condition.

I had a Galant saloon V6 similar to that, completely standard and it was really nice. Handled well too for what it was, think it's got 5 link rear suspension which works very well.

I'd go with the standard springs and perhaps some more normal alloy wheels, then they're a really nice old bus to fart around in. The V6 isn't especially powerful but it's really smooth,

Unslamming. It's the new slamming.

It was built by dez on rr was it not? He really knows his beans so it'll be well modified. I seem to remember it's got coil overs on on it, which you should be able to wind up a bit so your teeth don't explode.

Why do you hate it Torsten, does the OMG SLAMMAGE YO make it undriveable?

Posted

He's just saying it because he wants a Mondeo.

I was talking with Mr M earlier on about it, I have a company car but because the commute is a shag I leave the car at work and commute by bike (over 1 hour in a car, 15 minutes on a bike) which means I need a reliable car outside home for taking my lovely old Mum to the shops and boy to school, maybe 20 miles a week if that and as every road has a million speed humps it is torture in this bloody car. I've had this generation Galant before and it's a great car, it's just the wheels and slammidge that bother me otherwise this would also be a top car.

Anyway, Pete's got first dibs but if it's not his bag I'll listen to anything!

I'm up for it. Looks like a daft thing to get through winter in.

I had one of those a couple of years back - really good long distance hack but even unslamed was a bit of a palaarver in town. the cost of putting standard springs on one of these is not far what the car is worth (jap suspension bits are flippin expensive - I'm looking at the best part of £500 for the rear springs and shocks on the scoob)

what you really need Vek, to cope with the sleeping policemen and to give the aged Mrs T and the boy a lift is an Austin Maxi! :D

Peugeot 204 thats not been used this year? All legal ,like. Might even stick a new ticket on. Just bored with it.

Lovely!, I can't ever recall seeing one of those about, The roof rack is ideal for taking the mother in law out on as well. Go on Vek, you know you want to!
