  1. Jim Bell collections never fail to disappoint..
  2. Slk in for MOT today, then got a few little jobs to do and it'll be up for sale, come to the conclusion it's not really me and after two years on the fleet since Dad gave it to us it's time to move it on and focus on the van conversion.
  3. Might have to the rate I'm going through 20 amp fuses, got it down to a fine art now, found out fuse only goes when engine is hot, if I only drive a mile or so it's fine..
  4. Farewell to Aurora our faithful Mazda, been a brilliant car for MrsFL, she was very reluctant to let it go, glad it's off to a new home.
  5. It's an interesting point, if in 1990 you were dallying a 1972 Triumph 2000, A MK1 Escort or a Hillman Imp they would have all seemed very dated and hanging on by a thread. In 2000 dailying a 1982 cortina / early Sierra, Metro, mk1 Cav would probably have been less ancient feeling but still hanging by a thread But now I'm dailying a 2006 C220d and doing loads of work miles, I'm sure my colleagues who are mostly in leased hybrid Auris, Corolla, Chr's etc are horrified at the though of running something 18yrs old but it feels like a modern to me.
  6. If you're still struggling for time to get the Nova, Yugo and Green 2CV sorted there's only one solution..
  7. Thanks to JJ, all sorted on camper under conversion policy with colour change, windows and alloys all declared for not much more than we were paying for bog standard van insurance. Cheers @JJ0063
  8. Yes that dawned on me after I'd finished on the phone to them, the fact it's now got windows in the back also needs declaring, as I suppose does the fact it's got a towbar.. and isin the process of being converted into a camper I think I'll try some of the specialist insurers that cover self built motorhomes, if you can help pm me!
  9. Paint woes. As covered elsewhere last year MrsFL & I found ourselves owners of a swb transit van in a deal too good to turn down, we're slowly converting to a camper but roller painted it green, having had it changed on the v5 i've been meaning to call the insurers and let them know, not expecting any agro I was surprised to find them refusing to quote, now expecting a callback tomorrow to see if they can sort it out.. 🥴🥴🥴
  10. I can just about push 40 with the dizzle
  11. Thanks for the offers @alcyonecorporation @horriblemercedes But I've managed to pick one up locally, cheers
  12. So, this fuse keeps intermittently blowing, starts a few times then fuse goes again - Fuse 52 seems to be a common problem according to the Internet but no clear what the cure is, any Merc fettlers able to advise if its likely to be the starter itself? Also, time for our trusty Mazda 3 which started this thread to leave the fleet. Force Hail thread here
  13. Well, full marks to Autoaid & Burke Bros, arrived in 30 mins, owd fella with decades of experience, popped the bonnet went straight to a 20a fuse, popped a new one in fired straight up.. + 1 million for Autoaid!
  14. Live FTP Driving home after a work visit stopped for a McD's coffee got back to the C Class and no crank. Called autoaid who sent a Web link by text which highlights location etc and advises local agent Burke Bros are en route and should be with me within the hour.. Prace bets now!
  15. Quick tip for those using London Northwestern / WM trains - they've done away with First class tickets so anyone can now sit in 1st class for a free Air of superiority....
