  1. Farewell to Aurora our faithful Mazda, been a brilliant car for MrsFL, she was very reluctant to let it go, glad it's off to a new home.
  2. It's an interesting point, if in 1990 you were dallying a 1972 Triumph 2000, A MK1 Escort or a Hillman Imp they would have all seemed very dated and hanging on by a thread. In 2000 dailying a 1982 cortina / early Sierra, Metro, mk1 Cav would probably have been less ancient feeling but still hanging by a thread But now I'm dailying a 2006 C220d and doing loads of work miles, I'm sure my colleagues who are mostly in leased hybrid Auris, Corolla, Chr's etc are horrified at the though of running something 18yrs old but it feels like a modern to me.
  3. If you're still struggling for time to get the Nova, Yugo and Green 2CV sorted there's only one solution..
  4. Thanks to JJ, all sorted on camper under conversion policy with colour change, windows and alloys all declared for not much more than we were paying for bog standard van insurance. Cheers @JJ0063
  5. Yes that dawned on me after I'd finished on the phone to them, the fact it's now got windows in the back also needs declaring, as I suppose does the fact it's got a towbar.. and isin the process of being converted into a camper I think I'll try some of the specialist insurers that cover self built motorhomes, if you can help pm me!
  6. Paint woes. As covered elsewhere last year MrsFL & I found ourselves owners of a swb transit van in a deal too good to turn down, we're slowly converting to a camper but roller painted it green, having had it changed on the v5 i've been meaning to call the insurers and let them know, not expecting any agro I was surprised to find them refusing to quote, now expecting a callback tomorrow to see if they can sort it out.. 🥴🥴🥴
  7. I can just about push 40 with the dizzle
  8. Thanks for the offers @alcyonecorporation @horriblemercedes But I've managed to pick one up locally, cheers
  9. So, this fuse keeps intermittently blowing, starts a few times then fuse goes again - Fuse 52 seems to be a common problem according to the Internet but no clear what the cure is, any Merc fettlers able to advise if its likely to be the starter itself? Also, time for our trusty Mazda 3 which started this thread to leave the fleet. Force Hail thread here
  10. Well, full marks to Autoaid & Burke Bros, arrived in 30 mins, owd fella with decades of experience, popped the bonnet went straight to a 20a fuse, popped a new one in fired straight up.. + 1 million for Autoaid!
  11. Live FTP Driving home after a work visit stopped for a McD's coffee got back to the C Class and no crank. Called autoaid who sent a Web link by text which highlights location etc and advises local agent Burke Bros are en route and should be with me within the hour.. Prace bets now!
  12. Quick tip for those using London Northwestern / WM trains - they've done away with First class tickets so anyone can now sit in 1st class for a free Air of superiority....
  13. Any Shitely help available for a retractable parcel shelf from Peterborough, to either Stafford, Nottingham or FOD?
  14. Update, no Greggs (closed down), had to go with Subway, PC +1
  15. Currently at Bramton Hut getting Greggs, the food of winners* (and fat blokes)
  16. It's collection day for MrsFl's new daily, but first a mornings work to do.
  17. Go and find a local independent, all the big chains quote a low price per sqm then absolutely load it up with the underlay gripper etc.
  18. SmollFL's Aldi convertible suffered brake failure on Friday night after driving to join me for a weekend's camping near Swindon, eventually relayed back home and seized caliper identified as the cause. Today he took out my S203 and switched it off stuck in a jam on the M6band it wouldn't turnover, RAC bloke turned up fairly promptly and got It going again after changing a fuse which is odd..
  19. Paint, rollered thinned down rustoleum. 3 coats
  20. Yes, I like the look - better than rusty old steels with cracked tyres anyway!
