  1. I just picked up this pile of crap for £7 in a junk shop (I did try turning the pic around, but it stays sideways on here!) The aeroplane trailer (there was another one, I thought I'd try turning into a car trailer Possibly fix up the Dino I want just the wheels from yellow Lambo I think I have a cab for a Corgi Major trailer and not sure why I picked up half of a Scammell cab! The conveyor was just interesting I hoped Corgi Ferrari and Lotus F1 would fit in the Matchbox car transporter, they don't It is very nice though. Let me know if you want any of the above before I start doing anything to them
  2. What's the random Slade pic about?
  3. I had this one from new and kind of toyed with the idea of putting yellow wheels back on it, so I may do a swap first if that's ok. Pretty sure they screw together It's also missing the steering wheel, front bumper/spot lights and some engine parts and has broken rear screen. I think I have your address don't I?
  4. On Friday we went to a Market where Mrs Concern bought these for £8, a Matchbox tram and an Altaya La Route Bleue Renault 4CV, it does have the plastic top, but it need a bit of a polish. I'm not keen on models made of older cars (why I don't have any Vanguards), but the camping diorama is great for the summer house! Today we went to a toy fair and Mrs Concern got the Corgi boat and trailer with the Dinky sign she liked for £4 and the trams I don't know what she paid. Her siter was there and they spent most of the time chatting so that's all she bought. She's going to make a Judy Garland Trolly song diorama with the trams. My first buy was two Corgi animal cages with all parts present except a couple of tyres and a cracked roof window, plus a Big Bedford Cab all for £8. I know you don't need to know the prices, but when I read about other peoples buys I like to know so I'll tell you! Next I found an almost mint Dinky Lotus Europa, had £20 sticker, seller wanted £10, paid £9, very happy with that Opening bits Paid too much £5 for this Dinky Mustang re paint with the wrong (Corgi?) wheels, I'll probably paint it myself, but looks tidy enough for now Corgi Whizzwheels Marcos in blue, I have a yellow one and a cream one already and got pipped to Tat Friday one the other week so got this for £4 (wanted £6). It looks better than in the pic. Norez Jet Car GS for £2, never seen one before and it's very nice All four doors and bonnet open! It is missing a rear light, but still... The seller with the Europa also had a load of scrap bags for £1 each, white plastic bags made it hard to see what was in them, but I picked this I could see a Charger that I hoped was Matchbox King Size and it was, but no wheels, but that's ok as I want to change them anyway! One other lucky dip £1 bag had this pile of junk Obviously I was after this Dinky wedge If anyone wants any of the other tat from the bags let me know otherwise there's plenty of useful bits and pieces for my projects... Lastly on the way out picked up a King Size Javelin, Corgi Buggy and another Big Bedford with better paint, but missing the hitch for £6 the three
  5. Mrs Concern with my 1st car It was hers at the time this was taken
  6. @DatsuncogI did send a garbled message on the Emergency channel, sorry it was quite abrupt, I started off with a more polite version, but it vanished on my phone! If you see these again and can get them for £10-£12 (I know you love to haggle!) then Mrs Concern would be interested thanks for posting the picture anyway. I'm Not so keen on the Porsche as the Mustang anyway and not either at the revised price anyway!
  7. Thank you, the surf board (stuck to plasticard), wind screen tax disc & decals + the Cool Vintage were all printed from your pics you posted here with some cellotape over the top. The Corgi logo I printed off Google images. I missed off the BF Goodrich as I couldn't work out how to lose the background. While I think of it, the wheels are Corgi US Racing Buggy and the chequer plate is from Corgi Holmes Wrecker. Seats are rear seats from Corgi 2CV, dash and steering wheel is made from Corgi Ghia L 6.4 with dials off a Corgi Daf City Car. Spanner is from Corgi VW pick up. Other bits of sprew and glazing from various toys and models also used. Flip flops are plasticard and fuse wire.
  8. A little while ago @bunglebus posted some pics of a Hot Wheels Land Rover which I liked the look of... This got me thinking I should make a Corgi version of it Which I did , but kind of making it how I thought Corgi might do it So used bits from other Corgis as well as few scratch built bits And some stickers etc printed from @bunglebus's original photos I started with a 50p boot fair find that had broken A pillars so I didn't feel bad cutting off the roof Here next to a standard model Now it's finished there's lots of things I wish I'd done better, but the overall effect is what I wanted Funny that the big toy makers Corgi, Dinky & Spot on all made versions of the LWB Land Rover I might do another one as a standard Corgi SWB, but that will have to wait as I still have far too many projects pending...
  9. It was the slats from a bed we took apart!
  10. Nothing at Brighton Marina this morning and I mean no toy cars at all! We have put a little shelf thing for some toy cars up in the small spare room... I just need another ten of these dotted around the house and half my crap will be out of storage...
  11. I had a Cogbox delivery today to stem my withdrawal symptoms from being out bid on ebay and not going to any boot fairs lately.... So from left, Clio Mk1 in great condition, I have a Mk2 already as we got the kids MK2 Clios as their first cars, but Mrs Concern had a Mk 1 just before her current Modus. Next the Dinky Aston is really pretty nice and just needs some repair work to the bumpers and side windows, how they got broken when the screen is fine is hard see. Next the Corgi Austin Se7en, I only have my childhood one of these which I restored as it had both A pillars broken and roof bent down, plus bad repaint in yellow. this one is much better. The Corgi Custom Consul Cortina I accidentally bought is much better condition than the three i already had! Result! Plus it has interesting stuff in the back and the three lamps on the front. Are they from a Dinky Mk2 Cortina? I'll have to check them against mine. The burnt out Corgi Lancia I'll get back to... Corgi MGA is a lovely little model I want to repaint when i get a chance. I have one with the screen so should be able to copy that rather than buying a repro. Corgi Aston in yellow, I had one as a kid I no longer have it, I also got another one at a boot fair recently and they look almost identical and both are just as I remeber mine looking back in the 60s. So the Lancia is to replace my bodged together Whizzwheels version on the Tri deck transporter Looks great! Maybe not as good as the bodge job one tho... If I use the base plate from the genuine Whizzwheels one I will have pretty much the complete set at last I can also see that the colour orange I've used is a pretty close match thanks once again to @Datsuncog, I love Tat Friday and how you go out of your way to pick up stuff for us sad bastards DieCast Collectors.
  12. I really like the Corgi 2+2 E Type, much nicer and better shape than the roadster. I only recently saw a blue one IRL and still prefer the red! Does the CMC one have the sliding back seat like the original? I liked the separate exhaust when I was a kid and wiggled it about so much it's now removeable, great for those garage games! The trailer is the original from my Lotus set and I've just made a new hitch from sheel aluminium, just needs a coat of paint now so it'll be usable again if not very elegant...
  13. Elan and Spitfire if not already claimed plz
  14. Bryan Ferry in Messerschmitt Tiger 500
  15. Eric Clapton with George Harrison's psychedelic Mini
  16. @danthecaprimanI'm loving your projects in progress reports it's brave of you to share them in early stages (should there be a new thread for this?) makes me feel jealous and envious of you getting so much done and all looking so good. When i started on this tiny tat shit earlier this year I got a load done over a short time, but now I'm so slow. On good, dry days like today I seem to always have other things to do, like today out all morning cycling with Mrs Concern and this afternoon trimming the hedges in the front garden. On bad weather days not good for getting paint done, so I've been working on a project that is cut and shut, but it's taking so long, no teazers as I want to make sure it actually works before sharing it. We've also just converted the smallest bedroom into out joint hobby room with a worktop all along one wall so we should be able to get stuff done over winter. It's nice to have company while working on tiny tat! I'll still have to do any spraying in the shed on my own though, but I'll try a cardboard box booth and I need to order a mount thing for holding the models like yours. I have around 20 stripped castings I want to paint before the really cold weather sets in so i can put them together and do all the fun stuff then.
  17. All bargains if £3 or less, I've never paid less than £5 for any Corgi Mini at a toy fair.
  18. I know I'm quoting @danthecapriman but anyone else please comment as well. I have a huge number of projects on the go, some already stripped and some ready to be stripped. The real bottle neck is painting. I usually do it in the shed and despite me putting up plastic sheeting etc so that it looks like a Dexter murder site, everything still gets covered in spray dust. Also I currently put the parts on upturned flower pots and off cuts of wood, which is not ideal. What do you use for a spray booth? What do you use to hold the models while they are sprayed?
  19. @DatsuncogIf these are still available at £10 each plz could you get me one of each?
  20. At Brighton Marina boot sale last Sunday one of the stalls had about 5 huge models (1/18 maybe?) including a Charger. I didn't take a pic or get a good look as Mrs Concern spotted something interesting and we vered off. When we came back for another look the stall was gone! Other cars were Yankee 60s stuff, I remember a Camaro as well. I with I'd got a good look and a pic...
