Last month I bought these two Spot On Zephyrs for £10 at a toy fair, the seller said I could make one good one from both. He originally wanted £20 for them and having looked on ebay since then it would not have been too bad' So I have been working on one and ordered parts for the other from Steve. I had to make a bumper end for both bumpers from plasticard and I added people stolen from Mrs Concern's model box and a dog on the back seat which is a Corgi haha Number plate is a random off t'internet and steering wheel from Corgi I'm not Spot Ons biggest fan, but the Zephyr really does look the part This is the best screen with a slight crack centre bottom, it looks to be where it originally came off the sprue The "colour scheme" was suggested by @eddyramrod and can't say it was a bad choice. Not sure what I'll do with the other one, I had thought it would be a white Z Cars rozzer again but now fancy something different.

Sometimes i wish I hadn't seen things on here! What other versions are there, I could only see this one on Google? Now I've seen them I want a Hotwheels Mini pickup and van to go with the saloons I have! I do sometimes look through the Hot Wheels at toy fairs, but I've never seen a Mini and one seller told me he saves them for car shows where they sell for more money than most others!

The Cambridge is looking fab @danthecapriman Just how Corgi should have done it! Despite feeling shit today (I've managed to catch covid) I got a few bits and bobs completed between bouts of coughing and sneezing. Mini pickup has had the bits of glazing that show polished as much as possible and the interior painted with black humbrol satin. This model is made from one I got to use the interior on another which I'd ruined the plastics with thinners so the good bits are in a green van now. The rough bits are from stripping the new paint off after it reacted with something and I didn't go over the top cleaning it up where it will hardly be seen. Anyway here it is all back together For the number plate I gooled mini pickup and used a reg I found I kind of tried to keep it looking like it was made by Corgi Comparing to Van and Countryman Yes the interior of the pickup went into the green one I also finally put together a Corgi Elan I painted ages ago after seeing one someone had on here 155V6 maybe? Anyway I liked the purple with white stripe so here's mine Needed a repro screen and the steering wheel comes from a Maisto Porsche The Bburago 900 Turbo that I added the Aero body kit to is done as well, I know it's LHD and I stuck a UK plate on it, but I couldn't work out what a period Swedish one would be like. Perhaps I should have put an Italian one on. It didn't have a steering wheel (I mean it never had) and I fitted one from a Corgi, but did no other modifications as I didn't feel like it any more, but wanted to get it finished. It is interesting seeing it with the other Saab models I have, the Dinky 96 and Polistil 99 from childhood The 9.5 I got the other day intending to use the Aero wheels on the 900, but decided it's too nice to ruin, however I am always a bit disappointed when the tailgate of an estate doesn't open The two 99s are very consistant in size from the front to the rear wheel, extra length is in the hatchback The grill on the Polistil isn't great though While looking for the Saab 96 and 99 I found the other two Dinky Mini Clubmans (Clubmen?) I have, one is MIB and the other I already had is not as good as the one I got at the weekend Interestingly the worst one also has sparkly lights which are yellow (been replaced?) and has a different number plate During the afternoon a large box was delivered... It must have taken @Dick Longbridge hours to wrap this lot up, thanks again! Since I was a bit off colour I didn't feel like wasting the excitement of unwrapping it all so that will wait, but I had a quick peek...

Thanks for that I thought I tried that name, maybe I didn't! It does look a lot like it... Not sure about the window shapes though

I also wondered about the signature and tried googling variations of what I thought it could say together with Targa Florio, but came up with nothing so far

I saw this nice picture in a junk shop in Hastings and wondered what the car is, looks to be rear/mid engined and rear lights look to be VW so i imagine it's a VW or Porsche. I think it must be the Targa Florio in the mid 60s and Google finds several cars in the same place, but not this one. 250 GTO in same place 1966

I had wondered what happened to this and was going to ask, but you beat me to it! The one I had as a kid was a swap and I liked parking it and generally steering it around, but the L plates and huge red wheel always bugged me. I sold it on here last year! Talking of the steering Corgis, I also had the VW polizei car but had really wanted the orange rally version in the shop window. Unfortunately the shop only had the former for sale so that's what I got for my birthday.

The one I got is in better nick though!

Toy fair today Expensive but nice Dinky VW KG because of the one Bunglebus showed us (yes, it is his fault!) and Corgi Elan because I like them £24 the pair (blimey!). Very faded paint on both much brighter underneath Dinky El Camino £5 because I've wanted one for a while and they usually go for even more than that and Corgi Lambo I want for an ongoing project El Camino needs a good clean and Lambo complete apart from headlight sparklies I've been looking for another Dinky Mini Clubman to make my other real life 1275GT, but not found any and one I bid on with broken windows , scuffed wheels and no paint went for £10 +post! So I got this for £10 (he wanted £12) Quite tidy and i'll be a shame to paint it really, also this has sparkly lights The seller was a lovely chap and I got chatting, he has a Jensen CV8 and wrote this book I bought for £5 from him Had a quick flick through it and it's pretty interesting, but doesn't seem to have Mini Cooper in it, I could only find Broadspeed fastback. next time I see him I'll ask for my money back! Next a mixed bag of tat for £5! Lastly a seller I've boaght from before, most people don't seem to try to haggle with him and he drives a hard bargain. This Saico 1/43 C30 was £14.99, but we went back and forth when I noticed the tailgat spoiler wasn't on properly so I paid £11. I took it bits to fix the spoiler and just as well for thnis thread as the second base screw was under the exhaust and I remembered Dan maybe saying that was a thing. I'm now thinking of starting a miniature tat detailing channel... Came up quite well I may paint in the black roof on the VW and remove the numbers on the Elan, or I may not...

Yes plz for the jaunty Mini! That's really interesting thankyou for posting. I'd worked out it was Solido, but didn't know why it didn't say so on the base! That looks the part! I need to get/make some more display shelves for my tat.

I saw one of these repainted and missing the windows this morning, they wanted £8 so I left it I'm not a big Hot wheels fan, but this Mirafiori rally set and this Cuda set are really great! I'll quickly update some fake projects here... Mini Pickup was wiped down with isopropyl and the new paint seems ok now so left to harden up Made a plasticard left hand door for the Mini Countryman, it's ok, but I may use the door from the van I got this morning This is the Saab I was going to use the Aero wheels for Any Saab experts on here? I've painted the Aero kit dark grey as they always look like that to me while the other plastic bits look black. Am I right about that or are they all the same colour irl? Hard to tell in photos and most are the later big bumper sloped front version 900 as well.

Toy fair at Maidstone market today and not as good as I had been lead to believe with everything being a bit on the pricey side so I didn't buy anything. Well not much anyway... I started with this £4 Spot on Volvo 122 repainted in lovely bright yellow with black bonnet, rally stylee Missing grill bumpers and sunroof, but hey, Spot On! Next at various prices, but came to £16 for the eight Dinky Alfa is a bit bent but may be able to straighten it out Next Vanguards vans and a Joal CX for £9 I'm thinking Eddy will want the Vanguards. This dealer edition Volvo 480 was pricey at £8 and will go in my C30 collection. Pressing down on the front opens the lights, I did take a pic but my hand was so grubby I deleted it! Says AHC on the base and apparently made by Auto Pilen which is why it's so nice... This lot ranged in price from £7 to £2 including a French cyclist model for Mrs Concern, it came to £32 but he let us have them for £28 I wasn't going to buy a couple of those but Mrs Concern egged me on... The plastic Norev Renner 15 is a lovely one and a bit unusual I think Lone Star Dart is a bit of a mess, but what a great shape, I'm already thinking of colours for it I intended to pinch the wheels off this £3 Saab 9.5 for a project, but decided it's too nice to break I think this £2 Solido Clio might be a dealer special as no makers name on the base MIB Cinq for £1 if anyone wants it That was everything I got in the toy fair so we had a walk around the main market £1 each I already have a blue and a white Mustang II, not seen a Dinky Landy with a winch before and I have a white MIB Corgi Merc from childhood so a blue one is nice too lastly picked these out of a big box, seller wanted £7, but took £5

I'd be keen on the CMC Mini Countryman if sold individually.

Love those pickups @eddyramrod! I don't mean to be critical, but wondering why you haven't done the number plates since you know them?

My Nilfisk pressure washer packed up some time last year, but as we had a hose pipe ban anyway I didn't bother getting it replaced. Now I've had enough of trying to clean the cars without one so.... @bunglebus you got some bargains there and Mrs Concern says yes please to the Corgi caravan as it's in a colour she doesn't have. I think you may have a box with a couple of things for me from your recent sale, if you'd like me to settle up please PM me or if you have more to come I'll hold on. Actually either way if you want me to send funds now let me know and thanks for the c ararvan. By the way I forgot about this I saw in a newly opened junk shop in Lewes...

I had some panel wipes, but they dried out so I've washed it in washing up liquid and dried it on a radiator without touching it. It has several parts made from plasticard and some from car filler so need to be a bit careful as well.

Corgi Mini pickup has had a setback as after primer I noticed some reaction and had to flat it down and re primer It all looked good, but when i applied the top coat another reaction in various places so now has been carefully stripped off again fingers crossed for next attempt!

I spotted this in Brighton a while ago,a boxed dealer issue (?) Scenic and somehow missing the tailgate!

Today the Corgi Mini Pickup got some primer, also in the pic you can see that the wheels disolved in cosmic soda! I think someone ( @flat4alfa maybe?) warned me this could happen with some wheels. The Dinky HA Viva I got the other day missing it's bonnet is now sporting one I painetd satin black ( a bit more shiny than I wanted). I think is quite a good 60s period look I'm thinking of putting some racing numbers on it as well One of the Spot On Zephyrs is now black and is going to be re built with repaired original parts while the other one will get some repro bits and be a Z Cars Zephyr again

I don't know for sure but I'd think they were added by a small child, when I was a kid it was possible to buy sets of those sort of number plates, tax discs, running in stickers and all sorts of other stuff. I did it an I expect many others did too. Now you can get similar from model shops and ebay etc. I agree they look great.
