  1. Thanks for all of that, I'm sure I was told a lot of that stuff by my Ferrari fan mate including that the Dino wasn't badged Ferrari, it just got twisted around in my memory haha. The funny thing is I've been passenger in many 60s/70s Ferraris including various Dinos and Daytona Spyder, but I was never really interested in them, I prefered a Mini haha.
  2. I've recently got a cheap 216 Dinky Ferrari Dino and I had it in my head that it was a 246 GT. I used to be good friends with someone who had a yellow one with the plate TOY17 or something similar so despite not being a Ferrari fan I wanted one. Now I've looked at it properly I don't know what model it's actually meant to be. The back looks about right, but has DINO script on it and I'm pretty sure the real 246 GT had no DINO emblems. The front however looks totally wrong with the lights under a weird clear cover rather than on the wings. I've had a bit of a Google, but not found out what the Dinky is actually meant to represent, but I'm sure someone here will know!
  3. I remember looking at that with my dad when I was small, I'm not sure if he still had a Mini at that time, but I was obsessed with Minis most of my childhood and teens (OK and early 20s!).
  4. I think it’s time for a quick Fake Corgi update focussing on my recent Stingray fixation. I’ve been working on two, another Lazy Bones stock car, but this time a Whizzwheels version and one I chopped the top off partly because I had one missing the rear window and several missing the roof panels. I tried the Colour Shift spray paint Cosmic Blue on the restoration I did a few weeks ago and now used the Purple Eclipse and Galaxy Green. They are hard to photograph, but look great IRL. Unfortunately the purple Lazy Bones was not a success as the lightning flash and Go Go Go decals totally disappeared, I had thought the purple would not be so dark and also that the green would be darker judging by the lids. My childhood yellow Lazy Bones ha s just had the missing half of the grill and bumper replaced and I wanted to put the missing decals on as well. I decided to try removing the decals from the purple one and I’ll do another one in a different colour. Luckily I managed to save the decals I needed for the yellow one and have dismantled the purple one to re use the parts. I’d like to try and detail the green soft top, but I think I’ll go the optician and see what they can do for my close up vision as I’ve never had prescription glasses. I did scribe the line for the hood on the rear deck, but not enough as the paint pretty much obscured it. I think the vents came out ok though.
  5. Yes I impressed myself with that haha. PM sent
  6. Better ask @Datsuncogabout it as I can barely use the Whatsapp thing!
  7. I was sure I had a pic of my first car, a Mini 1000 wearing those clip on yellow beam deflectors, but I could only find this pic of it which doesn't show them. However I did find a pic of my 1275GT with the same clip ons fitted in Germany. Back to the point of the OP, when I belonged to the Citroen C4 club, several members painted the fog lights yellow despite being too new to have needed it, but at least they were French. I now belong to a Volvo C30 club and several members have painted the fog lights yellow because they think it looks cool.
  8. We decided to go to the Midhurst toy fair today despite it being quite a trek. Mrs Concern got a fair bit of stuff for the summer house and for her projects. I didn't see anything I really wanted, but picked up these I couldn't leave behind for £1 each. I'll only keep the Corgi Elan, Porsche and E Type and I thought @eddyramrod might like the Dinky Ford Sedan for his new project. The rest are for wheels and parts. Except these I got for @bunglebusassuming I've got the right person from the Emergency Channel! Also hope I picked up the corrects models! Edit Eddy has claimed the Corgi Rozzer Jag, but if anyone else wants any of the others for cost let me know (Corgi Mk3 Escrote, BBurago Ferrari, Matchbox Camaro, Corgi 911).
  9. Blimey you're right! https://shinventory.wordpress.com/category/wardrobe/wardrobe-starsky/page/2/ Just shows how unreliable (my) memory is!
  10. I have the first Speedy the Mini book, much thumbed and the fold out Mini is impressed where I traced it to make copies of. I liked making developments of cars when I was older and posted a load of them on this thread... Mini is on page 3 if you're interested Also soon after Starsky & Hutch came out I got a cardigan similar to the one Starsky generally wore for Christmas or my birthday... I always felt vaguely embarrassed wearing it. PS. I've never heard of Brum or Gumdrop.
  11. I have no idea how you manage that amount of detail at Matchbox scale, it's super impressive! I can't do it as well with Corgi scale toys. Please do keep sharing your work, I love it.
  12. I think those do represent the plastic trims fitted
  13. Liked for great write ups not for you having a hard time fixing it!
  14. This Corgi Lancia is my memory from Tat Friday Who else would think to post up a toy in that condition? I'm very grateful that @Datsuncogdid as this is what I was after Here it is fitted to my fake Corgi Whizzwheels Lancia Which is the last piece in my Tri Deck puzzle I love Tat Friday!
  15. That would be good thanks, I think you still have stuff for me (not paid yet) on your haphazard diecast sale so please add it and let me know total so I can settle (unless you have more to come?)
  16. Toy fair was small today and I didn’t pick up much tat, I was tempted by a few that I half regret not getting, but not too much. Most of what I got is for parts and projects. Prices paid got a bit confusing as Mrs Concern bought scenery stuff etc as well, but I’ll put thye price where I can remember in case you’re interested. This bundle was in a rummage box and came to £6 The seller wanted £7 for this tiny bundle, paid £5 which wasn’t cheap, but the Lotus has the driver, steering wheel and screen and I had all of them on my Steve Flowers list so it was worth it. These were priced at Norev Matra £8, Corgi Vanguard £6 & Dinky Atlas TR £3, knocked him down to £14 for all three which I was happy with. I’ve never had a Corgi Vanguard and I’m starting to want some earlier Corgis. Not fantastic condition, but just as I like them, looking like the young me just finished playing with it. The Norev is the second plastic one I’ve got after the Mehari last time and no paint chips on this one I didn’t realise bonnet, boot and doors all open too Plus the headlights from a little lever underneath! Not had any Atlas before, but I do have a CMC Monte Mini so why not? I already have an original in that strange salmon colour anyway. I grabbed the King size Cougar as part of the rummage box bundle and it’s pretty good apart from no tyres. Two Corgi Mack trucks also in the bundle so super cheap, I’m not into army stuff and only got that for spares for a hopper truck I bought from @155V6 a while ago. The seller said he had a few of the detachable rear wheels and would bring one for me next time, I bet he forgets though! The Corgi Cooper Climax is really good apart from the strangely missing front axle and wheels and the Cooper Maserati is very good with all the bits and driver activated steering it only wants some numbers on the side Lastly from the rummage bundle this broken Simon Snorkel as @eddyramrod wants the wheels (I think) So mostly a load of crap, but at crap prices and no real bargains, but pleased with what I did pick up. I’m already looking to see when the next toy fair is (4th Feb to long away boo).
  17. Cup holders. Why would you want to have a drink while you're driving? Probably almost as distracing as a touch screen.
  18. Dinky Beach Buggy is fuckin' MASSIVE Part2 I had a quick look around the summer house and picked a selection of buggies out to compare L-R Corgi Juniors, Corgi, Corgi Bertone Shake Buggy, Tootsietoy, Matchbox Sand Cat, Tonka, Some random green one (my favourite) & Dinky Mrs Concern has more examples of nearly all of them and a few others (Matchbox maybe?), but I couldn't be bothered hunting them out The Dinky is clearly big So my original analysis of fuckin' MASSIVE was correct!
  19. Agreed it's a stupid price, on the other hand I still have Humbrol paints that are perfectly useable from when I was 13 or so!
  20. Some great work Ed, I love seeing pics of what you've done. That Fiat with trailer is great and looks interesting, what's the back story to this? Yes please to pics of even just a simple repaint. Thanks to everyone who has posted pics of their projects and re paints here I find it very inspiring and just another thing that keep me coming back to this thread (you can check out any time you like etc).
  21. I have this one, I'm leaving it to @flat4alfa in my will... It also says Hotwheels on the base
  22. Is this why Sherrif Rosco P Coltrane always catches the souped up racing Charger driven by a talented racing driver despite starting five minutes behind?
