MrRegieRitmo
There's always lots of nice things in the Classic & Vintage Commercials magazine but the following were worth bringing to your attention, if only for interests sake... The adverts should be self explanatory (unless the advertiser has neglected to include important information!). At any other time, this for me would have been the outright winner as it's so unusual & looks a lovely piece.... However, when the adverts include this there can only be one winner! Who wants to start the fundraising for our Autoshite museum & make this our first edition?? Apparently it's already been in one museum, so out of one straight into another! hotford00
Arr Roadline .That was the first company I worked for after I passed my class1, first day first run 40 drops around Liverpool and 10 collections.got home that night and vowed never to return!!! However after sitting down and having my dinner ,I thought what the hell and went in the next day.I worked there until the Trafford Park depot closed and the manager asked me to go up to the Leyland depot . I finally left for a closer job to home after 7 years, arr happy days. As a slight aside I dind't know the Terrier came in a 4 cylinder as well as the 6, presumably still a Perkins engine
Split_Pin
I didnt think there would be any of the top pictured one left, (rare PO Telephones special with the engine pushed forward to allow a bench seat) so I am particularly pleased to see it!. I also love the roadline Terrier - as one of the many who has the Corgi Model (somewhere!). I didnt know they came with Perkins engines, I thought it was only the 6-98 that was available, so I was assuming that the 4-cylinder was the old 4-98 jobbie. wuvvum
I didnt think there would be any of the top pictured one left, (rare PO Telephones special with the engine pushed forward to allow a bench seat) so I am particularly pleased to see it!.There was one on the Bay earlier in the week I think. It certainly had the long nose that I'd never seen on a threepenny bit before. I do like that Terrier - looong time since I saw one in that condition, although there was a beavertail one being used as a carriage transporter at a show I went to last month - but my picks would be either the 95 van or the 4x4 D series. Didn't the 6-pot Terriers use the Leyland 6/98 engine though?

Didn't the 6-pot Terriers use the Leyland 6/98 engine though? They did indeed use the Leyland 6/98 engine, which was really just the ancient BMC 5.7 diesel, I seem to remember that there was a 4 pot version of the engine, the 4/98, that was a popular fitment to some of the FG 'Threepenny bits' and some Terriers.....
