If you've got a free 15 mins these are well worth a watch!

I'd have the Volvo:

H reg Cavaliers going for £7k... a bargain!

It just reminds you how much of a bell-end Quentin Wilson is.

Rather him than that irksome little sod, Hammond.

Ah, great stuff. Show us more of the 'don't bother' rotten crap, Quentin!

To think in just a few short years they went from a dry examination of auction houses to a man shitting off the back of a caravan train. Has any other programme changed so much over its run? Perhaps the Simpsons.

What's a 'Schnora'?

QW doing his fake bidding at the end of that on his own, I'd love to see him at some of the smaller auctions.

For those who've not seen it, Noel Edmonds on Top Gear in 1979 testing the Strada..

Just £3,700 for a J-reg Lada Samara.

I've seen the old bangers one before - even when it was on TV first time around. I quite like the Triumph Acclaim in all its beigey goodness.

There was another item I recall where QW was swooning over a well looked after early mark 1 Vauxhall Astra... :?

I'm that old I can remember the auction and autotrader episodes! I quite liked QW but his similes become a bit wearisome after a while. Just say what you mean man!

Steve Berry is a bellend too. When the MGF came out he basically repeated what Gavin Greene had written in that month's CAR magazine. He pops up on Radio 5 the odd time tlaking about stuff he clearly doesn't understand.

R5 staff meeting:

"We're gonna talk about x today. Who'll know fuck all about x?"

Reply in unison "Steve Berry!"

QW doesn't seem to annoy me too much, which is wierd as he has all the qualities of an annoying person. :D

His motoring bit in some sunday paper every week is truly awful!

Posted

Is it just me or did QW's practice of getting all the free papers, exchange and fart etc etc and finding a caff for a nice cuppa tea and oily fry up come back to haunt us in the from of Mike Brewer and every f***ing episode of Wheeler Dealers ever cobbled together to appear on numerous "Lifestyyle" and Discovery channels forever more

Still, its keeping failed actors in some kind of work I suppose; 4 years at RADA, couple of seasons with the RSC, why not break into lucrative Television work as......................... Bloke pretending to buy Saab 93 Ragtop in Wheeler Dealers series 132, God life can be cruel for the struggling artist!

(Hold out your hand fella, you've bought a cheap car there)

Without media/plugging influence, Willson is truly a man who knows what he's on about.

I remember the 'banger' episode too. Interesting that the £1500 Morris Oxford had already been plate raped by the look of it...

I'm just going to wait and see if 'McQueen Machine' emerges from the ether to respond to Ashmicro...:lol:

Q.W used to be a major columnist for Buying Cars/Car Choice magazine and his contributions to the mag were excellent. Mind you, Jeremy Clarksons pieces for Performance Car were probably the best work he's ever done as well.

QW's continuing e-type resto saga keeps me giggling as it's taken more money and more time than the continuing weldathon that is my Mk2.

Clarkson rocketh mightily, still manages to wind people up who take things too seriously every week and amuses a few million people while he's at it. TG is still the best show on telly by a long way. His pieces in Performance Car were pretty good, even if they did seem to fixate on how good the Scirocco is way too much. They're ok, but not the best thing since individually portioned bread.

Steve Berry believes, and we're all guilty of that. Seems like a decent enough chap and anyone who owns a Delta HF Turbo as well as a 68 390 GT 'Stang should be embraced by us lot I reckon.

I cancelled my subscription to CAR when James May left.
