Mint Ford autoshite excellence for sale

One for all you Sierra fanatics,

Imagine it's 1991, and you've just bought a white Sierra dohc Ghia spazzmatic, with all the options. Now fast forward 20 years, and look out of the window at the very same car, looking as good as when you bought it, with 48k miles on the clock, and a full main dealer service history.

No rust anywhere, unkerbed alloys, mint interior, lovely paint, runs perfectly. everything works.

Does £950 sound unreasonable?.

Not wanting to piss on your chips, but I've got two taxed and tested clean standard sierras that together cost me less than that... They aren't worth very much money, and twink/auto is the least desirable engine and box combo for most buyers (who to be frank either want a kitcar donor or to go OMG_DRIFTING)

edit to add: just noticed your location. It is entirely possible that cars are worth double on jersey, I hadn't taken that into account.

Mint!!! :D:D

You need to add 'I have to sell my car first' though.

Just swap him for your equally desirable 2.0 cavalier auto.

To be fair it does sound very nice! I'm sure i've seen mint sierras go for strong money on e.bay- they do have to be mega mint though.

good luck with the sale. I take it you have advertised it on fordsierraclub.co.uk?

got to say from experience I'm not keen on that engine and box combination

Sounds just like my 1991 Escort... Looks pretty much as good as new, original throughout but I know certainly at the moment, it’s effectively only worth scrap value as it isn't a sporty jobbie. Sad, but true. No amount of sentimental value will change that. :(

Personally, I'd keep the Sierra for a few more years - it will eventually appreciate in value. As someone who openly admits to having a horn for most Fords of this era, it's something I wouldn't even contemplate selling...!

If it helps, I recently turned down an offer of £500 for my untaxed untested 1989 White Sapphire 1.8L.... It needs work too. Why did I turn it down? Because the bloke was a nkob who wanted to do a "Cosseh Rep mate"... When I told him that was a bad thing to do to a rare car (in the sense that most have dissolved by now) he agreed with me!

fuggin hell, are meatheads still building half-arsed 'cossie reps'? You'd think theyd be building Evo reps or Focus RS reps or something nowadays.

I never could understand that. spending a fortune to make it LOOK fast but with boggo mechanicals so no grunt to back it up.

I'd rather do it the other way. Like my long-gone mk3 cortina with a capri 2.8i engine. hahaha

I have to point out, I do have a 24V Scorpio sat on the drive also.... I had considered doing the engine swap. I quite like the idea of a 1.8 CVH Scorpio.
