What's metal fetching over the bridge at the moment? The Mercs MOT is due soon and I'm thinking of the easiest way to get rid of it if it fails miserably.

About 300 a ton going on that some twat knicked two wheel arch cuts/sections off my drive this week.

£00.00 if you're a cocking moron like me who thought you still had to pay to get a scrap car hauled away and thought he'd got a good deal having one removed for free.

Wazzer I'll find out but it's defo on the up sir. The best way of telling this is from free-ads (or local papers) because the moment there's suddenly loads of 'we pay the best price for scrap cars' adverts it means it's shot up.

My local minebag metal mechants have jumped from £60 to £90 per car now and they're notoriously tight so money must be good and I'd guess at £150 per tonne minimum.

It's a heavy car as well!

Does anyone local export Mercs overseas?

If it's an auto pm me, have a contact for them ;)

I had a mate weighed in a couple of his old wrecks about a week ago and city scrap in Lincoln were paying £190 a ton ... so the price is quite high atm.

If the cars got a cat take it off and sell it separately as you'll get more for it. Cat prices vary, but £40-90 was the range got for the last batch my mate weighed in, so definitely worth removing before taking a car in.

Lad I was talking to the other day got £80 for a Pug 306, delivered to the yard.

All yards in my local paper are offering a minimum of £170 for cars driven in, and one or two are offering £190-£200. At the other end of the scale, I've got the shell of a Morris Minor Traveller which will be scrapped soon - no engine, gearbox, interior, doors but rolling. How much can I expect to get for it collected?

Probably about £80-£100. However it might be worth offering it up on Ovalchat (banger racing forum) as someone might make use of it there.
