'80s Bentleys look like they were designed by FSO.

80's Bentleys look more like Lada Riva 1600s....... They even have a nice chrome grille and the chrome cappings on the bumpers!. Ah the dear old vomiting FSO, it was great!. We were pushing it backwards and forwards in gear to free of a semi siezed engine, I was at the front and thought "Ooh look, its starting to spit a bit from that empty plug hole" then a good hard shove sent the fountain over Rich.

pmsl!!

That was funny,it was then i had bonded with my FSO!!

It clearly did the job though because she now runs!!

I just can't wait to get her back and let Mr Ladalout work his eastern european magic on it (he isn't eastern european incidently just very clued up on them)

There you go enough compliments this evening lol

cheers

The 125 pick-ups were quite popular for a time I seem to remember. My dad's cousin ran a grey E-reg one with a plastic tilt cover on it for his decorating business.

I ran a couple ,an average blue F plate with a Fiat twink, and a boogers red J plate- sold to a mate in Kent. Despite assurances, he sold it on shortly after; late last year. Spotless.

Been through a few saaloons too, and own several original Fiat 125's. Fun.

Well if you come across another for sale Mr. Bickle please let me know :)

How spooky is that, I see it's already attracted a bid of £500

Blimey these FSO's really are coming out of the woodwork!

I bet the DVLA are intrigued at all these FSO's seem to be appearing lol

I have just applied for my logbook actually as i wasn't given one when my friends picked her up and they charge you £25 for the blinkin logbook now (if you were not given one),i think that is such a rip off personally but i want it in my name so i can tax it eventually . . .

cheers

if it was in the scrapyard and it was registered 'scrap', can you get it back on the road. i thought once it was scrap thats it or did i make that up? I presume this was not?

Posted

Well luckily it turned out it was more of a banger boy scrap yard than a breakers yard!

If it was a Breakers yard you would be right i would never get a look in with any car in there as they all have a one ticket to heaven don't they!

The guy did have the logbook but he lost it . . . bit of a bummer but hey ho fingers crossed i will get a nice new on in my name soon!

Story of the purchase: THE ORIGINAL £25 CAR

Posted

Hadn't seen that one before vinyl seats. It's got the same diesel engine as my caro pickup. He did well picking it up for £25! I'm now off to pick mine up from the local garage, hopefully it's all sorted.

The Caro is getting me all hot and bothered. Really nice example. Are they the original FSO wheel trims?

It's one of those cars that I would probably still unofficially keep referring to as a Polonez. I do the same with the '95-'02 Vectras by calling them Cavaliers.

Posted

Hi Prog,

Yes they are original wheel trims Mate

I call them Polonez too although i do find myself refering to them as Caro when talking about my Poly to anyone that knows a little about them.

cheers

Richie

Ps it is a lovely example isn't it?,i can't remember the last time i have seen a caro actually . . hmmm :-)

thanks, the only bad bits are the plastic strips along the doors which you can see bulging a little in the photos. They are hiding some rust!

Waddya mean, "in case"??????? Damn right we want to see them! Thanks for posting, lovely to see one up and running.
