I'm Daniel, an 18 year old student from Hertfordshire. I've always been interested in old cars for as long as I can remember, although in recent years I've taken an interest in the lesser known makes and models rather then the usual 'scene' stuff. I've been lurking on here for a few months now (although I have a few members as facebook friends) and many of the vehicles discussed here are exactly to my tastes. My current daily is a 1989 K10 Nissan Micra GSX which I bought off it's original lady owner in September with a genuine mileage of just under 13,000. My first venture into shite ownership though was with a 1978 tara green metallic Vanden Plas Allegro which I got as a 15th birthday present, it's still in my hands but it's currently in storage and I'm considering selling it in the spring, due to the purchase of a 1 family owned from new 1964 Austin Cambridge automatic from a house clearance auction as a Christmas present for myself. I will get photos of all 3 sorted asap. :D

I also collect motoring related books, photos, postcards and magazines up to the mid 80's, and diecast models, mainly 1:43 scale.

I bet you are fighting off the clunge with that lot of HOT MOTORS.

Bienvenue.

I pity anyone who missed the 80's (<20 year olds, David Bowie, etc), it is a great era to look back on in shite-tinted spectacles.

Welcome Dan. Love your Cambridge - is it on the road yet?

I've managed to get it taxed but I'm waiting until the snow goes away completely before I start taking it out. Considering the Austin-Morris day at Brooklands in March for it's first show. 8)

Welcome along!

Welcome Dan, already a man of taste and style. I hope your Cambridge gives you many years of pleasure (second car I ever drove was the family Cambridge, I love those big comfy seats!).

Hi Dan, welcome to the forum!!

I have already seen pics of said Cambridge, and its ACE!

Welcome. Does your K10 GSX have the full quota of original body graphics? Including the diagonal corner-stripe on the bonnet? Regardless of the answer to that, please let me know if/when you get rid of it - for deep sentimental reasons I would literally kill for a GSX in good condition. :)

Also, for god's sake don't start voicing any crazy opinions here, you'll be toasted alive :roll::lol: seriously though, welcome along, it's like your new, slightly unnerving, village Local, with an awesome choice of real ale on tap, or a bottle of Blue Nun if that's your preference. Just leave the jukebox alone, and don't hog the dartboard.

Hi! At 15 all I had was a bicycle, let alone an Allegro... excellent work.

Hi welcome, would love to see some pictures.

I imagine a Tara Green Allegro would look quite striking! I have seen a Maxi in that colour.

Right folks, some teaser shots of the VDP and Cambridge taken from my Photobucket :D

Still need to get some good ones of the K10, although there's no decal action on mine as it's actually a SLX version, sorry

Micra Schmicra. Cambridge is gorgeous and deserves to be preserved as-is! What a beauty! VDP looks pretty damn smart too, a friend of mine had one 25 years ago, he loved it.

FUCK ME! Whan I was your age I had a poster of Arse-tennis girl on my wall, a 1965 Super minx in two-tone Azure Blue and White and a lusting for girls out of my league. You have TWO fucking fantastic motors. Dribble. Smng.

That is of course, if this is all true, and not a piss-take of some description.

(We had one of those recently)

That, and I have had a hankering for at least 1 of your fleet for a while.

Bastard.

(Meant in the nicest possible way)

I never thought of that... Eccentric all over again? Whatever happened to him? I seem to have missed something... I don't think Dan can be him, we haven't heard a word in praise of modern BMWs in this thread...

Ever the cynic I'm afraid............... once burned, the scars still itch.

Nope, I witnessed the events as a guest and I have absolutely nothing to do with him. Wouldn't mind an early 02 series Beemer with the round rear lights in orange, that's probably about it.

Thanks Dan, can you feel the wave of relief sweeping over us all? :D

Wow... I'm 19 and am yet to even get a car of my own , that is quite a collection and worthy of a warm welcome!
