I wonder what it would have looked like without the bullbars!?

Probably doesn’t fit in this thread exactly but had to do a double take whilst parking up at the bottom of Deansgate tonight…only Santa’s bloody legs on a flat bed! 😂😂

He's getting built this morning in front of the Library.

Call me soft, but this is the first Christmas I'm guaranteed to not have to worry about work so I'm actually looking forward to it. I can have Christmas off and go to Ireland 🥲

Interesting direct comparison there between the very crisply styled 1966 launched Cortina Mk2 - and the 1971 launched swollen Marina Coupe - things did not move much in the right direction  in 5 years for BL. In fact the 'tina looks more modern.

I've always thought the 2 door mk2 Cortina is a pretty looking thing. Mother Longbridge owned a very tired mk2, albeit more door back in the day and absolutely hated it. She did replace it with a clean Sunbeam Stiletto shortly after, which she was much happier with.

Looks like a Peugeot 404 or a BMC Farina. I would say the former because of the rear lamps and rear wheel arch.

Very late (J or possibly K registered) Morris Oxford VI in El Paso beige

I second this. I think the angle of the sun is making it look more exotic and rounded than it actually is....

The Escort UAT 579H (1098cc, first reg Feb 1970) still comes up on DVLA but tax expired June 1984 as do both Renault 12s, the saloon  XUT 243J (1289cc, first reg March 1971) tax expired Dec 1982 and the estate MBU 946L (1289cc, first reg May 1973) tax expired Nov 1983 but I expect long since scrapped although they might appear as Ebay barn finds.  No sign of the Morris (XHX 423D?) a London reg.
