Would you like to see Lancia back in the UK?

If they'd man up and make this, then yes, I would

This Fulvia concept should be built as it would be the right car to bring the Lancia name back to the UK.

Yes, but compare numbers sold in RHD (a couple of thousand) to the cost of tooling up. You then have to follow up the Fulvia with a really good prestige saloon, which Fiat can't manage. They will dress up a Chrysler in an Italian suit, the buying public will look at the non existent dealer network and say something along the lines of 'fuck that, I'm off to an Audi dealer'.

Lancia was never as strong a brand in the UK as Alfa anyway. The Integrale was the only bright spark and that was 20 years ago.

Lancia made some jaw droppingly beautiful cars back in the day, I think the beta was quite pretty (for 12 months) but that new thing is minging. If you want a Lancia buy a proper one, keep it in a garage, use it in the summer and enjoy!

Indeed. My favourite was the Flavia Coupes with the flat four, from the original 1500 to the seventies 2000 Coupe. They were absolutely stunning cars, both beautiful and superbly engineered. Proper Lancia engines (not the Fiat twin cam) were a work of art and there was no way they could have been made at a profit.

Then Fiat pitched up, launched the Beta (a piece of shit) and Lancia went down the toilet. Very sad.

I would say dont bother bringing Lancia back here, they'll only be a lightly-blinged up Fiat, who wants that? If they do bring em back, they could maybe bring in a few special-order-only LHD Thesis beforehand as a way to add some mystique though. They'll only sell 10 max but it'll get the name in the mags and get folk wondering what theyre all about.

Definitely yes, but only with a Lancia badge. There must still be a demand for a car that looks as if it's been designed by an architect rather than someone who has never been nearer a car than a playstation, even though Chris Bangle no longer works for BMW. It may be just a discerning minority that would buy a Delta, but that would only add to its exclusivity and allow Fiat to sell it at a higher price.

I would never touch a Chrysler (just look at the new 300 or even the current one) but I did look into buying one of these a couple of years ago: :

You can get rhd lights and a mph speedo, but the pound/euro exchange rate worked against it at the time :( . Perhaps if the euro collapses :)

Mr. Bo1, after checking Lancia's English language website the Thesis doesn't appear to exist anymore. In fact they're down to a paltry four models, two of which are MPVs.

I can't really see how this extensive range is going to help Chrysler out all that much.

I am utterly indifferent. Most gm modern cars are multi platform tat. I only consider driving cars under 2grand so really don't care.

I guess they could sell a few of those Ypsilon things in the UK if they were cheaper than the 500, but that of course would harm 500 sales.

All the other current models look rather bland.

Looks like a gay-as-fuck poxy Italian tin can with a Wolseley 1100 grille smeared on the front. If that passes for Italian fashion, I'll stick with the Master Race thanks.

wot? I love them B.Kini speciale edizione Yspilons!

They do look better in the flesh.

Granted, would look like a gaylord on the Romford ring road though.

Lancia back in the UK - yes please.

Chrysler branded Lancias - please don't.

Lancia branded Chryslers - don't even think about it.

I'd like to see a 'proper' Lancia back in the UK.

I dont mind a 'US style' Chrysler being in the UK

I dont want an amalgamated bastard child of the two, not unless it results in some supreme futureshite.

As far as "brand" and "image" go, I'm not sure that I understand where Chrysler is coming from in the UK? I doubt that Lancia would recover its high quality image which was lost in the late 70s/early 80s and I can't really see a niche market for a car that looks as fugly as the Delta. Anyone know how they are going on in Italy?
