Bidding finished. Did you get it, boss?

And photos required - I would like to take a few if you buy it.

DO IT

I was looking on ebay.fr and other "that side of the water" ebays for ages for one of these.

Posted

I would also offer help with the welding if it was close enough to do so - childhood memories, too, as my Grandpa had one the same colour around 1980.

Re the car in question

Got "shitesleuth" to dig the dirt - and this is what he came up with.

Apparently, the owner is an old tramp living in the rat-infested kitchen of a dilapidated old workshop.

He`s getting rid of the little car because he is seriously commited to pain redistribution.

He feels that true gain can only occur through pain; and since old cars are a great source of pain, he is very happy to help spread it about a bit.

The car was aquired for the purpose of calculating its quantum mechanical wave function, to assess its suitability for intergalactic teleportation.

However, he gave up when the batteries failed in his calculator, and has reverted to codging-up an old Riley Pathfinder.

When asked to comment on the condition of the car, he merely said : "In another universe no Simcas rust, and all survive. I know this to be true because Martin Buckley has confirmed it".

No probs 1725, you put the ones up yet from when you bumped into us last week? That was a funny old tale we've yet to tell, breaking down in Leicester in the Audi at the end of a countryside pageant, then Mr H Sceptre having to nudge the Audi some 150 yards off the ring road with his Maxi (and too fast so he lost some indicator in my rear bumper - he just can't not damage that enough), and then this legend of a bloke called Paul jumping out of a works van to assist, and exclaiming he used to own an Audi 100 once and worked for Audi as a mechanic for 8 years. He then met up with us about 4 times during the next 48 hours to not only fix the Audi but also fix Nick's Maxi's ailments, and then finally popped up one last time on the Monday morning to check on us when suddenly Rootes_Arrow pulls up in his works van too. What an Autoshite hive of activity Asquith Way was at 9.30am that Monday morning!

Have also been scouring Leboncoin for a suitable one, an enjoyable pastime if nothing else.

Thanks to you too M'Coli!

Hahahaha that's the fella pb. Obviously another Autoshite legend in the making! Hope to meet him in person in a week or so.

Welding is always easier when you're the first person there. If its been patched up repeatedly then things could get messy

Tell me about it.

I take it it's yours!!

Nice one! Really pleased for you. You really had your heart set on that. Never driven one to be honest, though a flat-mate had one years ago that was a complete rustbucket.

Cool beans!

Saw this one in 2008 at the epic NZ's most epic scrap yard:

NewZealand-43.jpg

Also comes with dancefloor roof!

Probably still there and most probably of absolutely no use to you, but you never know if it could come in handy....
