'89 Prelude project £200

Just had word from my good mate Ryan that his dad is giving up his honda resto, he's realised that with his bad knees, he can't actually get in and out of it so well anymore.

Anyway, the advert is as follows:

My dad has given up on his project prelude due to bad knees, he wont be able to get in and out easily once its done. He is a lifetime mechanic, nothing on this car is bodged

Its a 3rd gen F reg red prelude 2.0 (none vtec) with WORKING 4ws! Its quite high mileage at 180k ish but it runs fine. Its a limited edition with aircon, full leather and rear spoiler. I don't think the aircon works but everything else works perfect. I believe the air con just needs re gassing

Its had many, many, many hours work put into it.

The suspensions fully sandblasted and painted. Also braided hoses have been fitted

All the bodywork has been done, dints etc. New arches fitted and also lots of welding. This car is rust free now. All rust was treated with acid before priming.

Its currently rolling on all 4 wheels and drives. However its in bits so cannot be used on the road. Its declared SORN.

Also included is another slightly later prelude in the same color and same spec bar the ltd edition bits. Accident damaged (chassis only panels are all fine). The cars complete so ideal for spares etc. The engine was a good one too and has 120k on it.

We are really after a new owner who is willing to finish it.

All it needs to make it mint is some final paint prep then painting and reassembling. (boot + bonnet fitting + rear interior trim/boot). The oem color is a flat red so Its not really going to be a hard job to paint it.

Its located in Warrington at the moment nr manchester

KLT Motors

Wont have any way of transporting it I'm afraid but there would be no problems loading it on a tailor etc if you have one.

Please contact me on 07709818381 before all this work goes to scrap :(

Money wise my dad wants at least scrap value of £200 - just to keep would be scrapmen from having it to make a quick few quid! ::)

If you get this car on the road ill post you a £100 cheque or give you £100 cash if you come down. Then once your finished with the spares prelude you can scrap that for a further £100 making this car technically free....

V5 is present. The cars a 2.0 petrol, the 4ws works perfectly and the car starts on the dot. Electric mirrors, sunroof, windows etc.

Both cars are MANUAL

Pretty sure I saw this a couple of months back on RR? Thought it was a good deal then. Why is it not gone?

I must say, that is utterly superb. How rare is it nowdays to find someone who likes their car so much they will do that just to see it back on the road. Makes a nice change from the 'I wont take less than £XXX and if it doesn't sell i'm scrapping it' brigade, or the guys that break cars to make their money back when they ruin out of time/enthusiasm (I'm thinking about that Mk1 Polo on RR here)

I hope this goes to a good home and gets done properly

Not I, its my good friend Ryan who is selling it, We co-run the Ax Owner's club.

Ryan would like to move these two on as his own project is stalled until they are cleared.

Thought that username looked familiar, I used to post there under the same name. You once helped me change the front suspension on my old red one :D

Aye I remember that, long before I moved up to the lincolnshire wastes, I've had many a shite ax since then too!

I've asked my tailor if he is happy to have this loaded on him but he say no.

Good luck with the sale, it's a good project.
