Albert Ross Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Have we had this yet? http://www.moggy1000.com/ Link stolen from another forum I frequent. I reckon it's a good idea..... but..........
pogweasel Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Ummmmmmmmm. No thanks. Some of the innards from a combo in a proper minor van would be appropriate however.
AlsoMike Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 but........ It looks crap. Interesting idea, but in this instance I think the execution is bollocks. The front looks like it's bulging outwards and might pop.
Father Ted Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 This is where dreams come true. Always wanted a Moggy Van or Travelor. Well now is your chance to own a 16 valve deisal turbo charged 1248 cc Moggy Van with discs all round ABS and all the other modern essentials for modern day use. The vans are based on modern current award winning chassis but with the retro styling of the 50's and 60's. Eyecatching may be ? but with the practicality that won the affection of many. From the basic van with side loading door to the windowed version with rear triple seat our vehicles cater for the different needs of all. With the Moggy 1000 you have the choice of engines both petrol and deisal with a dual fuel and electric version being researched and developed at present. Conversions can been carried out by our Professional Team or a conversion kit with full instructions will soon be available. But not Pro enough to use a spell checker. How does that get type approved for pedestrian impacts then?
seth Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 How does that get type approved for pedestrian impacts then?It may it fall in line with the DVLA Beaver regs by there not being any mods to the monocoque. If its just bolt on panels ie wings, bonnet, front grille then there's no need for it to undergo any inspection.
Albert Ross Posted September 6, 2010 Author Posted September 6, 2010 Anyont fancy putting a MGB front end onto a Sherpa? Or maybe the OTHER way round, and then go to a show? Badge engineering at it's best.
shite_meister Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 I think I've just been sick in my mouth
autofive Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 i dont like it, but then, i dont like the look of moggy minors either i also dont like the idea of fake cars, whether ferrari kit cars or vans and cars with fake retro fronts grafted on
Albert Ross Posted September 6, 2010 Author Posted September 6, 2010 If you sold it, would you describe it has having had a "Minor Front end damage"? I'll get me coat.
worldofceri Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 They should try exporting a few to Japan. They love this sort of nonsense don't they? (See Nissan Figaro etc...)
Albert Ross Posted September 6, 2010 Author Posted September 6, 2010 So how would the website translate into Japanese if it ain't even in English? That said, it might make perfectly clear sense to the Nips.
Pete-M Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Well, at least they've shoved the Combo 1.3 CDTi engine in so it'll be an authentic pig to start once the temperatures drop below 15°C. Repeat after me, "Glowplugs five times, cross fingers and pray".
Alexg Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 The Combos been out for a few years now so I'm suprised it's only been given a Minor facelift..
Timewaster Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Wouldn't be so bad if the panels fitted. I'm pretty sure a MM grill is upright. Its interesting in a Mitsuoka Viewt kind of way - but not for me thanks. I wonder if it uses authentic 40w sealed beam headlamps? GR2 for seeing
eddyramrod Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no and fucking never on this earth! What a mess. But then that's just my opinion, others may vary.
Guest Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 W.T.F Why would you do that? Wrong wrong wrong.
Guest Leonard Hatred Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 It reminds me of the efforts of Mitsuoka, therefore I like it. Just needs some wood nailed on the van body.
AXrescuer Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 If you sold it, would you describe it has having had a "Minor Front end damage"? Er, no. But, I kind of like the car, but not much. It looks like a fucked modern rehash of a Minor in the same vein as the new Beetle, Fiat 500 and Mini. They all look wrong.
MrRegieRitmo Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 It'd be better with the front end of a Simca 1100 in a kind of VF2 rehash!
