The Solara seems to have won round one against the Stanza.

 

Now it's time for it to defend its Autoshite Middleweight title.

 

Today's opponent: The Morris Ital

 

 

 

 

As these are middleweight contenders, does this mean we can have different weight classes?

 

Allegro in Lightweight?

I voted Ital. While the Solara did have some endearing, if not redeeming features, the Ital really was the second-worst heap of shit ever foisted on the unsuspecting public.

Sorry, I can't even see an comparison there, The Ital is a nice car, Drives well and even looks pretty good, O.k the radio faces the passenger more then the driver is a slight design flaw but you can let it off this.

 

I'd LOVE an Ital Van though, Having driven one and really enjoyed it.

The Ital is a car based on a Marina. The Marina was a fucking terrible car, the Ital just looks like a half arsed 'can't afford to do it properly' facelift.

Therefore I voted Solara. Even though they're probably shit as well.

oooh, this is a tough one. If you asked me which one I'd rather own then it'll be almost as tough.... I guess Id rather own an Ital. I guess it also wins the shite-off... just

That was our old postvan when I first moved to where I am now in the late 1980's, was pleased to see it restored.

 

In terms of shiteness, the Ital wins this one. Just something so so wrong about the whole car. Dad had a Marina and they were pretty dire so the Ital was the natural shite sucessor. Old lady up the road had an Ital years ago, she never drove it properly - always waited until the engine was about to explode before changing up a gear, i.e 1st gear was an ear-shattering 30mph. I think she drove it into a tree in the local supermarket car park which killed it.

Ital. no question. You could even get one that was beige with orange interior. It doesn't get much shiter.

This is a much closer figh,t but for me, on a points split decision the Solara wins again purely because I see a beige Ital fairly regularly which takes the excitement away a bit in comparison.
