This happened yesterday so it's all going to be in one big lump.

I refuse to photograph food in general because it delays the eating process so take it as read that some Frosties and two cups of tea were consumed.

P.C. = 2.

Off to Glasgow Queen St station to pick up a car from a member who hadn't even got round to properly advertising it on here before I just said, 'Yes please'. Taxi to the station was some kind of VAGshit small MPV thing and the ride over Glasgow's roads made me realise what I'd been missing with my 70 profile tyres and lots of suspension travel in my old CRV.
There are generally two types of private hire driver in Glasgow, the Asian immigrant variety and the grumpy old white fuckers who moan about them. I got the latter. 😧

Queen St station achieved.

First class seats they may be but this was about as comfy as a park bench. Headrest repurposed as a lumbar support during journey.

And this is pretty much where the pics from the journey peter out I'm afraid. It was all going swimmingly until five minutes from Newcastle I got pinged a message from the train company saying my connection to Durham was going to be late. 'Fair enough, it's only another 20 minutes, that gives me plenty time to grab a bit to eat since I was getting a bit peckish by that point.

One scabby seven quid burger later (Is that what a burger costs now or are Burger King expensive?) and another message. Train further delayed due to cunts wandering around on the tracks.
This ended up causing mayhem on the train network since the collective powers decided that shutting down the entire east coast main line for two hours was preferable to jetwashing some red off the front of a 600 ton 100mph train.

Then the train got cancelled. They were queueing up outside the station by this point.

Thankfully Mark @gm offered to come and pick me up in what was by then 'my' new car, point me in the direction of home and volunteered to bus it home from there.

As it was dark and I was in a hurry to get back, there were no more pics taken but here are a few of what I've just bought from Mark who is a total legend of a man, top shiter, would buy from again etc. 😎

Car drove home without a hitch, cruised happily at 70-80 most of the way. It was even a dickhead free journey till I got to Glasgow city centre on the M8 and some cunt carved me up. Luckily the horn was where I expected it to be....

Many thanks again to Mark @gm, maybe next time we'll have an hour for a sit down chat  and a bacon buttie somewhere.

it was, so good i may have had a few of them :) it’s  called Gunpowder, not sure on which brewer but is was right tasty, 6% abv, which explains why i’m feeling ever so slightly rough today !

pub is the Gunner Tavern, just opposite central station, whoever is in charge of the music was doing a decent job too - stranglers, led zeppelin, the who, genesis were playing last night :)

I moved the car to a better position in the car park today and I can't even get in without this stereo trying to  mate with it!  I'll need to have some stern words with them both to try and stop such rapey behaviour because I really can't be doing with this level of technology. To me a car radio should have a knob at each end and a slot in the middle for your cassette/CD. 😛

YO what happened to your Saab?

YO what happened to your Saab?

Shit I forgot you asked me that the other week and forgot to reply !

It developed a few faults in quick succession which led to me selling it to a breaker. The heater and blower stopped working, then our old friend "battery not charging" made an appearance which meant it would only start with a jump. The timing chain had started to develop some worrying sounds when it was cold as well.

I'd just bought the MG5, and after spending  decent money on that I couldn't stomach throwing any cash at the Saab. I considered selling it, but with the faults and the car being in that ridiculous 700 quid tax bracket I thought it was pointless. A nice man came and took it away,  I got a few hundred quid for it, saved myself 60 odd quid a month in road tax and I don't regret it to be honest.

No complaints, it was a cracking car that didn't give me any major problems in the 4 years i relied on it.

Sensible choice man, chains can be a thing on them, plus the tax band that seems to have been dreamt up by Dr Robotnik.

I'd have taken the plate for mine though, I liked cutting about in the red one with it on before the V5 changed over!

good point - they’re a bugger to get back on if you need to take it off so i have no idea of what state the spare might be in - @Spiny Norman probably worth checking at some point
