Hello,

This morning I have been walking around my patch taking some photos of cars. Hope you enjoy!

Posted Image

Fiat X1/9

Posted Image

Polish Opel Astra with bashed in front end.

Posted Image

Rover 600 & Vauxhall Frontera.

Posted Image

Gorgeous Porsche 944 (the car below is in the foreground)

Posted Image

Nissan Sunny (extra shite points for being a white, uber slow diesel version!)

Posted Image

Rover 800 & Pug 405 estate

Posted Image

Mid 1990s Nissan Almera (extra shite points for being the giffer-friendly saloon model)

Posted Image

Some alternative hot Tranny action

Posted Image

Rover 213 (pre facelift model - I wanted to snap this one for ages as I kept seeing it around Norwich) :D

Posted Image

Toyota Carina 'E' Estate. Looks like the 'X' or 'XL' model judging by the matt black bumpers, so extra shite points here! :)

EDITED : to standardise photo sizes.

Posted

Posted Image

Late model Fiat 500 (my life will be complete once I see another 126 in the flesh! )

Posted Image

Well used Volvo 740 estate - note the missing headlamp wiper.

Posted Image

Perodua Kenari - a bit too new but instant shite status, imho!

Posted Image

Mercedes W123 'CE' Coupé - gorgeous! 8)

Posted Image

L-reg Renault 5 Prima (Campus?)

Posted Image

VW Scirocco

Posted Image

Morris Traveller (pre-1963 registered if the number plate is the original one)

Posted Image

Norwich Tour bus (I'm guessing its a Leyland DAF/Sherpa based kit)

Posted Image

Hungarian registered Chevy Kalos saloon parked outside a hotel. Last year I worked in the brick building behind it & recall seeing it so it has been driven on Hungarian plates for over a year - how naughty!

Posted Image

SEAT Toledo snapped a few weeks ago, parked outside a workshop of the local SEAT franchise

Posted

Posted Image

The holy grail - Aston Martin DB5. James Bond in Norwich City Centre? Shurely shome mishtake.

Posted Image

Sorry for the railings - its actually a well used A reg Morris Van (Traveller) that is a common sight around the city centre.

Posted Image

Late model Fiat Panda - I wonder if it's the Avid Merrion 'Bo SELECTA' model? Sha-mone Motherf...

Posted Image

Citroen BX over yonder

Posted Image

VW Caddy

Posted

The reg on that Moggie Traveller is unlikely to be the original - AS plates are usually issued to cars that have been plate raped. It's still probably pre-'63 though.

I saw that Scirocco the other day - it's a stunner. J-plate IIRC so quite a late one.

Posted

What a selection!

Fiat 500 next to Volvo 740, two that I've enjoyed, what fun! Then you go and spoil us with the DB5 and spoil the whole thing by calling a W123 "gorgeous!" Excuse me? Look up "gorgeous" in any dictionary and there will be DB5 pictures for at least 100 generations before a W123 gets on the same page!

I really must learn how to post, Cyprus is Shiteville Central! Especially round my house... :D

Posted

Just remembered - If you look at the pic of the blue Opel Astra (2nd picture in my 1st post) - to the top left of the pic you might be able to see a Honda Beat in the front garden of a terraced house. :D

Posted

That Beat lives at the bottom of Constitution Hill, doesn't it?

Yeah, Magdalen Rd I think it acually is, right where it forks off into Sprowston Rd. :)

Posted

Posted Image

That number is almost the same as one of me mates HA's, the plate is also the original plate on the car as this is the oldest known HA.

Posted Image

Love the 500 and the X19 - now that's another car that used to be fairly prolific and is hardly ever seen these days. Was never really that bothered about them when they were out there but quite fancy one now.

Posted

Making me homesick.

Seen that slammed VW on the A11 a few times and that blue Almera looks familiar too.

Posted

That Almera saloon is cool, I'd forgotten they even did them.

Blimey, I used to live just along there, on Magdalen Road. Bit further towards the city, two doors down from the 24 hour shop. Beat must have arrived after I left :)

Erm, I have to tell you they are both age related plates, added to pre 1963 cars that have had their numbers sold (or imports). The AS series was originally used in Nairnshire, but the AAS-YAS series was used as age related plates around 2002-3. Nice cars though.

If the owner of the white Talbot Express camper in the sixth photo lives near you, you might want to advise him to get it looked at....He meandered out of the BP garage on the corner of Blueboar Lane/Salhouse Rd in front of me, just a few minutes ago actually, and in his attempt to get off up the road, he nearly asphyxiated me....It really stinks! :D

Speaking of Salhouse Road....And Campers....Anyone seen the blue Bedford CF Camper on the site of the recently demolished garage on Salhouse Road? 8)

Ha ha! I spotted that CF today on my way to work! :D

I live close to Salhouse Rd actually (until the sale of my flat goes through) but the Camper you speak of was snapped on Buxton Rd, which is just off Aylsham Rd.

Well I've seen a nice looking red/maroon Wartburg Knight in that area, so keep the camera peeled!

Posted

I have seen a Wartburg driving around, a mid-70s P or N reg one but I kept thinking it was in beige. :? I think I might even know where it lives.

No photo of it but I had to post that yesterday I saw a rough n' ready white Renault 6!!! V-reg. 8)8)8)

Last weekend I took a trip out to Cromer on the north Norfolk coast and snapped these:

OMG, Déesse spot!!!! Safari? Was not able to snap this from the front due to the antiquated road network running through Cromer town centre.

may11002.jpg

Black Cherry in more tasty 'turbo' flavour - yum! Number plate indicates that it's a local car. 8)

may11003.jpg

may11004.jpg

In the distance is an 80s Daihatsu Charade.

may11005.jpg

And my most favourite-ist shape BMW 5-series. Sorry, didn't notice what engine size it was.

I was up in Cromer a few weeks ago and there is some nice tat at a garage in Overstrand, about 5 minutes from where you spotted the DS estate. Wob-filled A35 and others :)

Cherry Turbo - what a waste :(

Posted

Poor old Cherry has been off the road since 1999, says DVLA.

autoshite020.jpg

This is an Ollerton, based on a Sherpa. It has a complete Sherpa cab and interior, with fibreglass body built around it.

Made in the 80s in Samlesbury Bottoms, near Preston, by a firm whose core business was making metal garden furnituure (benches, gazebos etc).

Most of them were supplied to Cookie Coach Company, a biscuit franchise. This one will have been converted from a van.

Solid old things, and command quite a premium. There were several manufacturers of these faux-20s vans in the 80s.

Dammit! No pics but as I left my estate there was a metallic burgandy Subaru SVX parked on the kerb. I was going to get a picture of it but it left when I returned. :(

Also spotted an L reg BMW CSL in light metallic blue and a C reg K10 Micra driven by an old duffer...possibly a Collette.
