Thought I'd say hello now that I've been "approved". All a bit barren on the shite front for the moment but I'm on the lookout for a Merc 190 (petrol). Don't know why but I really fancy a manual - has anyone battled with one or should I accept the fact that I'm pushing 40, just conform and buy a waftmatic? Lemme know. :)

dont have a merc, but ello and welcome to AS :)

Are you local? This is a local forum, for local people you know.

Come, come, we'll have no trouble here!

I'm the other end of the A635..... just head SE.

Hi Metrobi, thanks for the offer, I may just take you up on that. Off next weekend to do some serious Merc hunting - a mate (who's obviously never owned one!) suggests "diesel everytime" but I'm not convinced

AR don't get jealous now but located in deepest darkest Wombwell, way way way at the other end of the 635 :D

I nearly took a job at the Total 4x4 place before it burnt down......... and I've taken my son to the Dentist in Wombwell also..... I bet you've seen this.................................... <<<<<<<<< before.

Is that what happened to it - I thought it had just been demolished by late night revellers on their way home from Locky's. Must admit I've never seen the landie in the flesh but I promise I'll give you a wave from the Berlingo if I do.

Oh and by the way I promise I'll get some pictures of my previous motoring kelp posted up when I've mastered all that right click nonsense. It'll be mostly Italian and involving Mareas, Alfa 156, mk1 Strada and the Panda Sisley now owned by Vin (hi Neil) :)

Welcome along and if you do really want a nice 190E manual just drop me a pm as I have one for sale.

Thanks for the link! :D

I think I may have a copy here - it is Wombwell and I may never feel the urge to ever read it.

I'm on the lookout for a Merc 190 (petrol).

I had one a few yeard back for short period, before it got nicked in Coventry. I suspect it got shipped out to Africa, as it was a manual carb version. I never really got a chance to enjoy it but I see no reason why you should not buy one as they're got value at the moment, I also squirted around in a similarly aged E30 BMW which seemed a bit less refined than the merc.

There's a four door Cavalier Mk1 in another scrappy somewhere, posted on another forum. Can get details if anyone wants.

Welcome from Sheffield.

If you want REAL respect on Autoshite, go to Elsecar Heritage Centre. In one of the cabinets upstairs in the antiques place there's an ad for a Talbot Solara Rapier for £295. Ad's been there for ever (I think I may even have posted about it here) so he'll probably accept a furry sweet and some old stamps for it.

Will keep an eye out for 190s for you mate.

Is that cavalier still there does anyone know?

Give them a bell? :)

Hey Bollox, if you fancy going to have a look at that Cavalier I'll happily throw on a complimentary "cab" - I've always wanted an excuse to go down and have a look at it (if it hasn't been turned into bean tins yet).
