Split_Pin Posted yesterday at 06:15 Posted yesterday at 06:15 I had asked for my good mate and all round musical superstar Paul Simon to accompany me on my latest collection mission today. His music was my dad's favourite. There appears to have been a misunderstanding: HillmanImp, Matty, JMotor and 7 others 10

Split_Pin Posted 22 hours ago Author Posted 22 hours ago Ok well he's here now so lets crack on with the day. Peter, do you want to give shiters a clue what car it is? Â
Split_Pin Posted 22 hours ago Author Posted 22 hours ago Ok well I'll do it: Here's some parts left over from 2 previous examples that will be used for the upcoming one. Tickman 1

Jenson Velcro Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago If it’s Crewe, surely the car should be a Bentley

Split_Pin Posted 20 hours ago Author Posted 20 hours ago Peter was a bit late for that train. He's not aged a bit since Double Dare.
Split_Pin Posted 20 hours ago Author Posted 20 hours ago "HEYHEYHEY!!" "LOOK WHO IT IS!" "KENNY DALGLISH!!!" "WHAT TRAIN'S HE WAITING ON?" Are you sure its him, Peter? "KENNY!" "KEEENNNAAYY!" "KEEENNNAAAAYYYY!" "IT'S PETER SIMON! HOWS IT GOING!!" Are you absolutely sure that's Sir Kenny? He doesn't look that happy to see us. Dave_Q, JMotor, Matty and 2 others 1 4
Split_Pin Posted 13 hours ago Author Posted 13 hours ago Oh. Anyway, Peter was no help. As @Supernaut correctly guessed, it's tje forum Saab 9-3. A quick change over on baking 28 degree heat in Crewe and I was off up the road. Quick pish stop at Southwaite and some overpriced fuel. Verdict. Drives well enough, suspension is softer/smoother than my last 2 which I like, smells damp (they all do). Front bumper is fucked though so I'll see about a replacement. Should come in at under £100. brownnova Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago This car still holds the title as being in one of my favourite ever photos taken of me… A friend saw me coming up the dual carriageway from the bridge. (Bonus is you can’t see much of me 🤣) Great buy btw. The thought of having this back did cross my mind, but I’m glad it’s gone to you. It’ll likely keep being improved. It deserves to live, there’s a good car in there. Split_Pin and mk2_craig 2
Split_Pin Posted 10 hours ago Author Posted 10 hours ago And hame at about 8.15pm I wasn't feeling well on the train but I felt better as soon as I got off it and the drive home was uneventful apart from the whole 4 lanes jumping on the brakes from 70 to 30 every 5 miles. After the bottom of the Lake District was reached I had a pretty much clear road. I should hopefully have a bumper sorted out, other than that just an oil change and a good clean should see it right. Mrs_Pin was impressed with the colour. AnnoyingPentium, beko1987, 83C and 2 others 2 3

Top Banana - well done that man. When we're headed up to Scotland we usually hit the M6 around Crewe and I fecki' hate it - all the way to Lancaster it's the shitfest you describe - after that? Lovely drive all the way to the outskirts of Glasgow. Split_Pin 1
83C Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Good to meet you even if it was brief, managed to get the train back home with a couple of minutes to spare so all is good. I have to say it was a nice thing to wander around in, I sort of wished I’d had the roof down today driving up to Crewe but I think the sun would have been a bit much. mk2_craig and Split_Pin 2
Split_Pin Posted 10 hours ago Author Posted 10 hours ago I brought my hat specially, pulled over at Knutsford and dropped the roof. Even with all the windows down and just a t-shirt I was still roasting 😎Managed to stick it out until Southwaite when it started to get 'north' and more chilly.
